i have to agree with this post, very difficult to do all of those things. this post stated what i wanted to say without the confusion
yea pretty much. You expect Favre to look for the safety valve or crossing pattern every time? You dont sign a signing and then ask him to dance do you?
What other team would he be guaranteed to start on? It is very doubtful Minnesota or Baltimore would have handed him the job. Likewise, I don't think Herm/Chiefs would bring Chad in this late as he is pretty loyal to his players. I could maybe see Chicago guaranteeing him a chance to start, but that is about it.
How about guys with a Pennington GREEN, WHITE, BLACK, AND TITANS jersey? Feel bad for them? Me too. haha.
Pennington agreed to terms with the Dolphins, but isn't going to sign the contract and be introduced until tomorrow. So no, Pennington will not be suiting up tonight. John Beck is playing Quarters 1 and 3 and Chad Henne is playing quarters 2 and 4.
What? That doesn't make sense. I expect they were going to have to change a bunch of stuff for Favre anyway, but Chad going to our Week 1 opponent means they're going to have to change more stuff, like terminology and audibles. It's not just a matter of the QB learning what everyone else was working on, it's a now matter of teaching the whole offense a new set of calls, plays, options, etc. Some of it had to be done anyway, but more of it needs to be done now. That's what I'm saying, it should be fairly obvious. Teams will bring in practice squad players from upcoming opponents during the season for one week just to get info on their opponents stuff, you think our starting QB for the entire term of this coaching staff over a month won't be able to help the opposition?
I really can't see Shotty installing a new offense in three weeks. Sure, there is going to be some tweaking based on Favre's ability, but I think the big difference will be in the play-calling and the order of progressions.
Chad's knowledge will definitely help them, but our CS also knows a couple of things about his tendencies, strengths and weaknesses.
Anyone who watches film should, the Jets are more familiar with him, of course, but he's played long enough that teams know his strengths and weaknesses. That's different than knowing the opponents' signals, shifts, assignments and language. Think of the Oakland-Tampa Bay Super Bowl. Oakland had a superior team but they were facing their old coach who just left that year and knew everything they were going to do.
Fair enough. Gruden had a little more to work with than Sparano and Co will though. I don't see the fins giving us too much of a game unless they can run all over us which is a legit concern. I should hope that we have 8 in the box quite a bit though.
Chad learning the Miami offense will take some work, but it certainly helps that it is Dan Hennings offense that Chad worked with briefly in his first year with the Jets.
how weird does chad look in a dolphins uniform? http://www.nfl.com/trainingcamp/sto...0d5d809e99c4&template=with-video&confirm=true
