Judging by David's avatar he is more of a Chad fan than a Jets fan. Only justification I can think of for his comment.

We didn't trade for Chad though  We have a much better line and an overall better team since Bill took over shitbrick Cameron. Chad will shine for us

By all accounts and reports, Ricky looks like the 02 Ricky. If this is true, Chad will never be asked to throw down field to get 1st downs. It's actually rather simple and I can see why he signed with us and what Bill's selling point was. He's the most accurate passer of all time and the way Bill is building our team Chad is THE perfect QB.

That's debatable at best... Pennington just hasn't been the same QB since he got thrown to the turf and had that surgery...

But my point is, does anyone seriously think Pennington and the Dolphins is going to surprise the Jets, especially after all the offseason moves by the Jets?

Again, No. Nobody know Chad better than the Jets D. I see plenty of problems for the Dolphins Week 1. And the other 15 games too.

If you're building around the running game, you don't want a QB that allows the defense to put 8 in the box because he can't throw down field.

There's no way we're losing to the 'Fins week 1. But, of course, any given Sunday...

Gotta give them a cliche'd chance.

The Dolphins are going to get slammed into the turf and so will Pennington. I'm not happy he signed with the Dolphins, but if it's a whoopen he be wanting, then that's fine by me.

I hope not. I'm really pissed that Pennington defected to the Dolphins, not because I hate the Dolphins (which I do), but because it means he has zero chance at a ring. If he went to Minnesota, he'd have a very good chance. Chad should have gone to a team where he had a chance of making the playoffs. Does he need any extra money, if its only a few hundred thousand dollars?

When Mangini came to the Jets he had a dossier on Pennington from the Pats on how to beat him. Do you think Mangini threw it away? He still has it.

Chad won't be in rhythm either with this new team, he doesn't have the receivers he's known for 4+ years, you really think he's going to walk in, a month before the season and shine with a worse team than the Jets last year that didn't make a big splash in FA like the Jets did? The Fins got rid of their two defensive captains and motivators in Thomas and Taylor. They have no one on defense, and you expect them to stop Brett Favre and the new line and the receivers? Who is going to cover Dustin Keller?

You don't think Revis, after playing against Chad for this long and having all the inside information he needs to beat him, won't pick him off at least once? Please. What about Kerry Rhodes too? Just because Chad's brain can outsmart a defense, doesn't mean his arm can. Look at last year. The Jets don't get to enjoy 4th quarter pick 6's either. With Revis, Rhodes or even Lowery in the Nickel?

Why is this even a question? We are giving the Fins too much credit about their brand new QB.

The Jets should win. They will be favored to win but we all know how that "on any given Sunday" goes. Who knows, he may not even be ready to start week 1. He has to learn an entire new system too. If he is the playbook will be limited just as it will be for Favre only more so.

agreed we will not lose to the dolphins. of course anything can happen, but looking at both teams rosters i do not see it happening. Ricky will not be much of a factor since chad cant stretch a defense.

There was a reason Brett Favre wanted to stay in that division. He was motivated to beat the team that just screwed him over. Im not saying the Phins are gonna win, but Chad will certainly be playing at an elevated level.

I think Miami has the edge b/c Chad is a smarter QB than Brett and should be full speed sooner plus he has played under Henning even thouhg that was his rookie year. Chad was used to changing coaches and schemes while Brett mostly played in the same system his entire career BUT Chad has no weapons to throw to, Miami will have a shot if they control the ball on the ground w/ Williams and Brown.

I guess there's a chance that I'll win the lottery, but that doesn't mean I'm going out to buy a Ferrari today. The overall talent that we have over them is far superior right now. Throw in the fact that we, as a team, know ALL of Chad's weaknesses, I would say that we will win pretty comfortably. Favre will probably struggle a bit knowing our receivers tendencies, but the rest of the offense should be able to dominate a Vonnie Holiday led defense...

Let's keep this in mind also:

    2001 Panthers 1-15
    2002 Panthers Week 1: Beat Bal 10-7

    2000 Chargers 1-15
    2001 Chargers Week 1: Beat Was 30-3

    1996 NY Jets 1-15
    1997 Week 1: Beat Sea 41-3

    1991 Colts 1-15
    1992 Week 1: Beat Cle 14-3

    1989 Cowboys 1-15
    1990 Cowboys Week 1: Beat SD 17-14

The 1-15 Saints of 1980 are the only 1-15 team to lose week 1 the following season.

LOL Chad absolutely sucked when last year with decent receivers. He is going to a team with the worst WR corp in the entire NFL.

Yeah Chad is going to take the offense on his back and win this game. I mean why not, he has done this all of zero times in his entire NFL career. I am more worried about the cloudy day we are having right now then Chad airing it out and beating the Jets in week 1........lmao.
