They're probably praying he signs within the division. It has nothing to do with class from the Jets either. Everyone knew we had to get rid of him by 4 and all they had to do is wait. He probably wasn't worth all that much in a trade to begin with considering we just got Favre for a 4th.
Just said on NFL Live he is expected to be released... I almost hope the Fins sign him just for some drama.
Classy move by the Jets? omfg, you're kidding me. They had no choice. They took a guy who gave his heart and sole to the team and threw him in the gutter. A guy, who if he was the jerk that is Brett Favre, would have stayed away from camp and demanded a trade, like every other primadonna in this league. But Chad played it with class like he always did and the Jets screwed him for it.
This is better for Chad then trading him to some team he will get to choose his next stop...which is good for him!
The Jets have wanted to get rid of Chad for awile. With all the love from the fans for him they had to find a politically correct way to do it. Even if Farve stays a season they have managed to get rid of Chad without a public relations fiasco. For the Record I don't particularly favor the trade and I wanted Chad out of her in the worst way.
That's good for him but the Jets really had no choice. They had to get rid of him or they wouldn't have had the cap space to acquire Favre. It wasn't like they had any other choice. I for one hope Pennington does well where he goes.
Chad has been released, I just got a text message from nyjets.com. http://www.newyorkjets.com/news/articles/show/2333-jets-release-qb-chad-pennington
True. While i'm not a huge CP fan, I bleed green, and I recognize he has been an integral part of the Jets for several seasons, and was a great role model for a lot of people, and especially for a ton of kids who I see out at tc every year. So, there is a little sadness with this official announcement, and I wish him the best wherever he goes!
