If Brady broke his leg today (don't get your hopes up), Pennington would jump on a chance to run that offense! he'd be crazy not to. But he's not going to be a backup for anyone this year.
Bellichick would want to grill him for info on the playbook. Once Clement and Hobson got there, he realized they were as dumb as rocks, so they were no help to him. Chad knows the playbook inside and out. He would be a great source of information to Bill, now that he doesn't have the use of his videotapes that is
Too bad for Chad if he gets traded there. The O'Line got old overnight last year... If he gets cut, he should look to Minny first...
Why cut Chad? Are the Jets cutting Chad because of $? Brett Favre is 38, an experienced back-up never hurts in the NFL.
Yup! The Pats have had so much trouble stopping the Jets that they'd bring in Chad to get info! The reason both the Jets and pats pick each others players up is that they run similar systems and the comfort level is already there. This grabbing player for info is so overblown both ways, that it is just silly now.
What? We just traded for someone and then immediately said that we want to get rid of him? If I were him I'd want to compete against us to prove to us that we made a wrong decision (which we didn't). KC would be a perfect fit for him.
Chad will be a starter somewhere.... just heard on sirius that the dolphins are inquiring too he's not going to the Pats as a backup
The Globe also speculates that the Patriots would be interested in Pennington as a backup, if he is interested: http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2008/08/how_favre_deal.html
