eh, i dont know how good i would feel if we had 2 rookies on the left side to protect chad or whoever it may be. these guys may be good, but they are still rookies and thats the bottom line. they will make mistakes from time to time, and i dont want to mistakes ending our quarterbacks career

True, but Jets' need a dominant side, whether it be left or right.

This is so stupid.....Jets' now have to draft a RT, when they just let there other RT {McKenzie} go over to Giants . This makes no sense & this is why Jets' are always re-building. Hopefully this new Jets' regime will be better at player management.

I just hope they go with the best player period if they stay at 4, and if they think it is Young then they should be all for it, you have to remember that the choice of QB is going to most likely be decided by Schottenheimer since he is going to be the one in charge of the offense. And honestly with our offense with really no direction of where it looks to be heading and the fact that we are in rebuilding mode, it could make sense in taking the gamble and mold the offense around his talent, and no matter who they take at 4 if he is a QB it is going to be a risk

Jets | Team may not look to trade up
    Tue, 4 Apr 2006 20:37:37 -0700

ESPN.com's John Clayton reports early word is that the New York Jets won't trade up to get USC QB Matt Leinart, and it's not out of the question for them to draft Virginia OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson over Leinart, if both are still on the board.

Hey guys, first post here...i dont believe it would be smart for the jets to draft D Brick or any other o-linemen /w their first round picks. I think they should be used on potential "playmakers". With the first i would pick Mario Williams or AJ Hawk, Leinart if available (even tho im still not completely sold on that) I wouldnt mind getting Hawk, bringing up two smart, fast, young linebackers in Vilma and Hawk would cause chaos for opposing O's for years to come. If not i wouldn't mind us trading down in the draft and stockpile more picks. At number 29 i think we should take the best available running back and use our 2nd and 3rd rounds on O-line.

This is what the Jets will do. Although I prefer Ferguson with our 1st pick, the Jets aren't going to win the superbowl this year, so let's build for the future. I don't think Penny can come back, but if he does, drafting a QB is a waste. Fix the offensive line and the defensive line, they were among the worst in the NFL last year.

I think that with our 4th pick we should stay tight and draft d'brick, if hes gone then trade the number 4 to denver for their 15 and 22. At this point I would then select DeAngelo Williams with the 15th, we would kill 2 birds with one stone seeing that NE is serious about drafting williams at 21. with the 22 pick I would then draft marcus mcneill the OL out of auburn, hes a hog. Then with the 29th pick select Nick Mangold the C. With our 35th pick we should take DeMecco Ryans, the LB out of Alabama. that would sum up a lot of needs then in the 3rd round i think a great pick would be Brodie Croyle.

    Some very nice choices there:grin:

Truthfully.......This would be the most effecetive way to jump-syart the offense & personally I love it.

drafting VY would be a horrible pick, which would haunt the jets for years to come. Thus, I expect them to pick VY.

2 of their 1st 4 picks should be offensive linemen.
