how can anyone hate brett favre...that man is a workhorse thats why people like him...like people liked cal ripken jr....the man is a beast, he can throw like jesus, show passion like every pass means something NOW THIS TEAM MEANS SOMETHING!
So you'd rather we go into the season with one of two poor options because the team "meant something" to you? Looks like Brett Favre is not the only one acting like a selfish douchebag.
i can't believe anybody would be against this trade. we gave up one draft pick, conditionally. ONE DRAFT PICK in exchange for of the most exciting, impactful players the NFL has EVER SEEN. look, i appreciate chadwick as much as the next guy, but its been time to move on for awhile now. finally the jets are moving on. this is a GOOD DAY. the jets have been one of the most unwatchable, boring teams in the NFL for years. at least they won't be boring. and hey, they might even be pretty darn good! so anyone hating on this trade is completely shortsighted and wrong. period.
He's not going to the best man in your wedding, for crying out loud. You're not gonna play poker with him, or go fishing. Who cares if he's an asshole? Lasy night on NFL Network they were talking about the QB competitions. They mentioned Orton/Grossman and Penny/Clemens. When I heard that, I saw how pathetic both situations were. There are no starting QBs in that group. Favre is better than what we had. Put aside your personal feelsing, and see the move for what it is: an improvement over what we had.
I don't think they internal options were "poor" enough to Sell Out for. I see you cannot have any opinion that is against the mob. Fuck Farve.
There is not litmus test and everyone can have an opinion. I just think its tough not to like this upgrade. Even if its a two year upgrade. He does everything better then Chad. He will stretch the field...something Jet fans have no recent memories of. He will make his wide receivers better. He will use his tight ends. He will avoid sacks..even at 39. He will use the middle of the field. And yes...just like Chad of recent years..he may even throw an interception at the worst time. Giving KC or whoever, a chance to sit behind this guy and learn for a year or two will only make them better. If this coaching staff and front office thought he was ready, this deal would not have gone down. As far as Pennington goes, I will never understand anyone that defends his ability to play the position. Perhaps indoor arena football.... Loved his heart but I think its safe to say he probably at this point in his career has one of the weakest arms of any qb to play pro football. I cant think of anyone else..and that limits what you can do. Coles becomes better...Cotch becomes better...the tight ends become better...the running game becomes better...the offensive line becomes better..and more importantly any receiver becomes much...MUCH more safer. Safety first.
