I Can't Wait To See All The New Guys NFL Preseason Football -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2 WCBS: Thursday, August 7 7:30 PM Sports event, Football New York Jets at Cleveland Browns
Now that we have the whole Brett Favre thing behind us, and the green and white scrimmage, we can finally see some REAL football. We might not see the real Jets, but who's with me in finally getting to see some awesome preseason action?
I know it won't be awesome- it's preseason football for crying out loud- but, I'll be watching the crap.
It is awesome. I am excited. Seeing players in camp is fun, but its better to see how the practices translate into game action.
For all you Favre fans out there- the first Packers game will be televised by ESPN a week from tomorrow.
Pre-season games are about the team for maybe a quarter -- then the rest is all about the new guys who are trying to win a job. On both sides of the ball. It is interesting if you are aware of what happened in the draft and free agency on your team, and you want to see what the other team's moves and picks netted them against your team's. Pre-season is more about the roster than anything else. Of course, I would also hope that Callahan uses the pre-season well to really bear down on the OL backups and get them learning, moving, and growing better.
Preseason should give us some indicator of where this team is. Last year the Jets looked like shit in the preseason, and looked like shit in the regular season.
idk. pennington and clemens will be playing a lot even though its only the 1st preseason game, i think they will play more than a 1st string and 2nd string on any other team
Can not wait. Great time to look at players on the bubble. I'm also dying to see how the 2 QBs play during the first set or two. It's a start.
According to the team web site: Thursday, 08/07/08 7:30 PM @ Cleveland WCBS Saturday, 08/16/08 7:00 PM Washington WCBS Saturday, 08/23/08 7:00 PM New York WCBS Thursday, 08/28/08 6:30 PM @ Philadelphia WCBS All 4 are scheduled for CBS.
... that may be local to the NYC area though. Every year they're listed as CBS but it's the local channel and we don't get it upstate. bastards. I wish sunday ticket included pre-season games.
The pre-season games might not be the Jets we will see Week 1 in Miami but its real game time football, and we get to see some of the young guys. Am i excited? you bet your ass I'm excited, will get to see Ratcliff and Ainge throw some passes in game time, and without football for months i will take anything right now. Roll on Thursday
I agree i forget who we played in the first game, but we didnt look too bad in that game. When we played the Vikings however wow did we look bad, especially our run defense. I know the vikings had a sick run game but jeez they made us look like clowns out there.
