QB is the weakest. The other safety spot maybe, but safety overall is set due to Rhodes. The LB corps and Receiving Corps are now pretty damn strong.
Weakest: Our Secondary - I don't believe its at QB, its still a big unknown at this point as we don't know what we will get from CP and KC. Although we have Rhodes and Revis, who's going to play opposite of them. Strongest: Our O-Line. With Mangold and Dbrick in between Fanaca, I believe it makes our O-Line 2x better than last years. The question is, will 2x better be enough for our QB and RB.
Strongest: Offensive Line - No gaping holes on the line like last season. Faneca will anchor the left side of the line, and Woody should be a significant upgrade over the inept Clements. Barring any injuries, this should be an All-Pro line. honorary mention: Linebacker - Harris proved last season he has what it takes to be an impact 3-4 linebacker, and as a rookie. Calvin Pace is going to be a force with his athleticism, pushing BT to the depth chart. Gholston potentially can be a beast for the Jets, hopefully living up to his nickname Goliath. Eric Barton has had a great camp this far. Weakest: Quarterback - Nobody knows, which isnt too assuring. Kellen has had a rough camp up until yesterday. Maybe he turned the quarter, meanwhile Pennington has been having a solid camp until yesterday. Pennington still has been dinking and dunking in the 7 on 7's and hasnt developed a downfield strike the way Clemens can open it up. honorable mention: Tight End - Bubba Franks is old. Dustin Keller is just a baby. Chris Baker needs to get off the stationary and get some reps.
That the QB is still an unknown at this point speaks a lot to the strength of the position...mediocracy at its best. I think we have good competition at the positions opposite R and R. E. Smith, Elam, and it appears we're looking for a veteran, which is wise. Opposite Revis: Carrol, Barrett, Miller, Coleman, Poteat and Lowery. I think thats a lot of depth if you ask me. SS, is definitely thinner than Cb2. IMO RB is similarly stout..lve what Ive been hearing about both Thomas and Leon. I've always loved Musa, Chatman is a player as well. Great depth if you sk me. The question becomes will they have space to run? The upgrades at the O-Line, the signing of Richardson and the development of Brick and Mangold will hopefully go a long way toward ensuring the sucess of our Running game.
weakest: QB, this is the by far most important position and all our options suck. We also have no depth. If Revis, Rhodes, Jenkins, Harris or any OL goes down, opponents coordinators will make a gameplan against us in about 5 minutes. strongest: YAC, Leon, Coles, Cotch, Keller and Brad Smith are all very dangerus, when we can get them the ball and they got a little bit of space.
I think our strongest is LB, full of youth and potential. The OL will be much improved, but we still need to see how Woody plays and the lack of depth there is always a scary thing. *Knock on wood* but what if something were to happen to Faneca? 2007 all over again? Weakest has to the #2 CB, but I think the players will be good enough if the D-Line and LBers play as expected. QB is still too much of a wild card to make a judgment there... I think the potential is there, but it could really go either way.
Weakest: QB with no defined starter and both apparently looking average at best in camp. Strongest: LB plenty of talent to go around in the corps.
strongest: qb. we have two nfl caliber starting qb's on the roster. this is called a win win weakest: lb. the heart of our d is harris with only has a few games under his belt. bt played poorly last season. pace is playing a new 3-4 and is an unknown. vg is a rookie who will only see the field in dime situations. there's a lot of camp fodder at the lb position.
Nothing is clear at the moment but putting everything together: Weakest- Secondary, 2nd CB spot and the 2nd safety spot are still weak areas of this team, i would prefer Miller in there and hopefully Lowry can come through but right not thats the weak spot i see. Nearly weakest- QB situation, one year on and we are back in training camp with a QB competition on our hands, Pennington hasn't got the arm and Clemens hasn't got the brain. Nearly Strong- Running back situation, we have a power guy that still managed to rush well last year with a woefull line, add to that a impact guy like Washington, this area is good. Strong- On paper the O-Line, we can't say if it is or not as we have yet to see them as a unit in a game situation. Looks good though, should give our QB (Whoever it is) soom time and will open up for the run.
strongest is in terms of depth is linebacker but in terms of talent it is the offensive line the weakest point in terms of depth is the offensive line but talent wise I would probably say qb
