Last year, they reported that he was 100%. I went to TC -- and you could see then -- that he wasnt. He never had a strong arm -- but it has gotten consistenly worse. (BTW -- its not the long ball -- its the 20 yarders that just take forever to get there). Any word on his health this year? Any observations (227 or others) on the truth about his health?
From the reports out. it seems he is still part of the dink and dunk pass game. Clemens will start, but on a short leash. I speculate Ainge will get cut and the Jets will keep Ratliff.
hey GM-you don't think they'll IR Ainge for the year with the pinky? He can't be THAT bad and we can't actually know that already can we?
I have trouble believing after all the Ainge hype and the fact that we used a fifth on him that he would be cut at this point. He has an pretty nice arm and good poise from what I could see.
I'll hold my doubts until the preseason games start, but if TC is any indicator about Clemens.. Pennington is the starter.
if penny starts and stays healthy the whole year i would expect slightly better numbers then the 2006 year just cause we have a better line and running game.
Ainge was drafted based on his college career. You don't throw that away based on one week of practice coming off a hand injury. Ainge will stick.
That's ridiculous. You don't draft a QB, give him one training camp with limited reps..than cut him. He will be the 3rd QB..I would bet my left nut on it!
Because I believe this staff has to try and make KC as QB stick. They have 2 choices. Manage the game with a run game and new beefed up OL, or stretch the field and deal with mistakes. Based on the moves to beef up the D, that leans towards KC.

I think it depends on how successful Callahan is in building an OL that wins and owns the line of scrimmage. The more time you give a smart QB, the more dangerous he becomes. The better you block for your RBs, the more the QB can make the D pay for every slip up and every small defeat and every let down. Chad and hopefully Kellen will learn to infuriate and then intimidate the D behind their OL's leverage. False starts, quick counts, silent check downs -- reading the defensive sad sacks like a dime novel.
