I think the cornerback position alongside Darelle will be a huge issue this year. Luckily, we have a guy like Kerry at safety, and Revis doesn't need much safety help. But, i believe we have about 4 guys competing for the position who are all 3rd or 4th cornerbacks. Either way, I just wanted to get everyone's opinion on who will be starting opening day.

In my opinion, I think David Barrett will be starting. He's probably the most experienced, and has been consistent. Unfortunately, that consistency is below average but I think he will be the starter opening day.

However, I believe by week 8, Dwight Lowery will be starting. I just think he has so much raw skill right now.

Justin Miller for me as well, always been impressed with him, he seems to be getting the majority of reps in practise from what i hear. Barret might start but he will be targeted and beat severall times a game. Like most say, Lowery will come in at some point.

I think the CS wants Miller to start, but he has shown nothing before his injuries and has been very injury prone. I see Lowery starting Day 1. I think everyone has had enough of Barrett.

I am hoping Miller shows improvement and takes the job as Barrett can be hit or miss.

Im going with Miller. From what I have heard so far the Jets are giving him every opportunity to win the job. Hopefully the extra work in the off and the time he had to study while he was hurt pays off this year.

Barret is good, but he seems to get beat too often, most likely because of the cushion he always seems to be giving the guys in front of him.

I have to admit i dont know too much about Lowery other than the videos i have watched that were posted on this site. If he is half as much a ball hawk as it seems he could very easily inherit the starting spot if Miller struggles. In my opinion its Millers spot to lose right now.

I was watching Jets Nation this past weekend and they claim Miller has the inside track right now in camp.

According to camp reports Dwight Lowery has been quiet and Miller is the front runner.

    I hope Justin Miller
    I'd bet David Barrett.

Unfortunately Justin Miller hasn't proved he can be a good Corner.

I think the coaching staff prefer miller as a weapon in secondary, hits like a truck and has abiltity to turn a pick into a defensive touchdown.

Barrett as you guys point out, more consistent, less likely to give up big plays.

Miller's job to lose right now

and yet, they're still allowing him every opportunity to start by giving him first-team reps. i think they want him to start and as long as he doesn't wet the bed, he'll start.

that right there is the definer, and then come preseason weeks 2 and 3, he will get burnt like toast over playing a fake and getting torched deep. Then Hank Poteat will start like he did last at the end of last year. As you all say the staff has had enough David Barret, but they really enjoy cap'n Hank...

I also think that once Lowery picks up the speed of the pro game he will improve quickly and take a starting spot. Whether that is at CB or FS i dunno...
