I can tell you honestly that I never heard once that Pennington suffered two torn ligaments. If thats the case, when did he have surgery on the ankle?

Here's my problem with this... Mangini, as a head coach, should be able to determine when it is safe for the player and also a detriment to the team when he is playing an injured QB... how much he knows about the injury is probably the question. This is the second HC under which Chad has played with bad injuries when it made no sense. It's not just the Head Coach in this situation no matter what certain people want to believe.

Chad's problem isn't the ankles its his arm. There's a reason we have one SB with a QB with massive injuries to his legs, he had an arm.

Chad, its great that you play hurt but the point is you get freakin hurt every year and are never 100% effective. Its not like a badge of honor dude. Almost every year, you get injured and its less then 100% or out of the lineup. Great, your ankles and shoulders are strong. What's next?

Does anyone else get the impression that Chad has been building up to being a martyr?

You need your ankle 100% to plant and get any velocity on the ball, this totally explains why he was so bad.

ANYWAY, CHAD WON DAY 1 BITCHES!!!HAHA It's gonna be like this most practices this summer so get used to it. When Chad is healthy (he is), has a good OL (we have a great line), has RB and WR weapons and can use his accuracy, game smarts, command in the huddle and his abilities to move the ball he is a top 10 QB.

If Chad outdoes Clemens for the job, then so be it. Here's to a great season with Penny under center! I'll take whatever QB is going to win games for us.

If you wanna say Chad is gonna win the competition, fine. If you wanna say he's a better QB than Clemens, fine. But please, for the love of god, don't ever call Pennington a top 10 QB.

    Top 10 in what league?

Chad becomes another in a long line of athletes that couldn't stay healthy. It's not his fault, just reality. I am not even sure why there is a competition. Go with Clemens or go get Favre.

This isn't really relevant to the arguement but is the term "noodle" to describe Pennington's arm getting old to anyone else? Every time I read it I assume the person is some fan who thinks he knows something about the team but is really copying what everyone else is saying.

This injured all the time thing gets really annoying after a while. I'm ready to move on to a new era. I don't know who is going to take over yet. Clemens has his shot in front of him, and he better step up and take it. If not, Draft a QB who is ready to go by week 1 next year - this team has the tools to help a new young QB mature into a talented QB.

How do you know? Maybe that's why his O only put up 17 points in the SB?

Namath's knees were still functional in 1968, it was later on when he could barely move.

It's typical Jets luck. Namath was always hurt, Klecko has injury problems, Freeman was always hurt, Abraham was always hurt and then Chad. These were all top players when healthy but could never stay healthy.

I agree with point two. Chad was a very good QB for the short time before his mediocre arm was turned to mush. In today's league Namath would have never been cleared to play. On the other hand with today's surgery he would have probably played a lot healthier a lot longer.

If you watched the game, you know that is not the case.

(Unless, somehow, his angle injury magically jumped into the ankles of all his lineman.)

The fact that we will go with KC this year whom to the casual football watcher – it is pretty clear that he does not have what it takes to make it in the NFL as a QB, over Chad should show just how awful Chad is.

Brady played with a separated shoulder in 2002. Players play.

Don't hate Chad, He played injured.
    How did he get injured?

Oh that's right, Our #4 Pick Folded and got beat so bad that they collapsed on Chads leg.

It's this type of mentality that really pisses me off. Hating the guy who played injured and gives his blood every week. He spent last year running for his life!
