Camps roundup: Raiders tell Jordan to stay away
    ESPN.com news services

RAIDERS TELL JORDAN TO STAY AWAY (3:32 p.m. ET)
For the second time in seven weeks, the Raiders have told running back LaMont Jordan to stay away from team activities.

Jordan's agent, Alvin Keels, said Wednesday he was informed by the team that the Raiders do not want his client to report to camp in Napa, Calif. The Raiders start training camp Thursday. Keels said he hopes the Raiders either release or trade his client immediately.

"I am just hoping for a quick resolution," Keels said. "I'd like for this thing to be resolved within the next 24 hours."

The Raiders kept Jordan away from their minicamp in the first week of June. They have been trying to trade him. Jordan visited Detroit recently, but a deal with the Lions does not appear imminent. Chicago, New Orleans and New England could have interest in Jordan if he becomes available.

Jordan has become expendable in Oakland amid a glut of running backs, including first-round draft choice Darren McFadden.

Now that could hurt a little bit.......

Not saying we should trade for him but if he came cheap as he should maybe the Jets should inquire.

I like Jordan but we already have 168 running backs. I guess I wouldn't be opposed to getting rid of one of the other no-names for him if he came cheap and willing to accept a very minor role. I don't see it happening.

+1... it's one of the reasons why we didn't resign him.

Wow this guys career absolutely went to shit. Too heavy? Couldn't handle the full time role? Death by Raiders? Who knows but this guy is completely off the radar now.

Things get alot harder when you don't have Curtis Martin to wear down the defense for you.

I just recently ran into LaMont Jordan at a previous Mystics game I was working. He was in DC so he is as far away from Oakland as possible this was on Sunday the 20th. Mystics games draw a diverse crowd and I would have never expected Jordan to be there.

Since there are rarely any known names at Mystics games they put Jordan on the big screen and stated "Former Terps Running Back" I found it funny because he doesnt have a job basically. We also did an interview with him and he looked so nervous in front of the camera was wearing some big shiny watch and some retarded looking shirt. You could tell he was trying his hardest to look big time in his home base.

During the interview he kept cleaning his mouth so I offered him a piece of gum and he shook his head no. I was literally shocked, lol but anyways he sounded so unprofessional during the interview and just sounded dumb.

This guy is going to have a hard time ever becoming something special the worst thing he did was leave the Jets. All he had to do was wait 1 more season and he was the starting RB. Now he is watching Mystics games. Sounds like fun to me.

new england seems like the home for wayward ex-jets. always wished we'd kept him, but we really don't need him.
ironically, i read in todays daily news, that both chatman, and smith have been placed on the "non football" injury list.
what a way to start off the season.

I was the happiest Jets fan on the planet when he left. I sure as hell don't want him back now.

As was said earler, has-been, that never was.
