I have a NY Jets credit card and I have enough points to get into VIP seating at training camp.

Has anyone ever been in the VIP section? Is it worth it? I have been to camp a couple of times and have seen the folks in the VIP section on the opposite side of the field. Is the "VIP Experience" that much better than the regular camp experience?

I could also cash in the points for merchandise or NFL Shop gift cards.

    What's a boy to do?

I've noticed people on the other side of the field but never knew this was a "VIP" area.

I'm not sure if it has many advantages other than the same view of the action from a different angle. The sun would be to your back in the morning, but unlike along the fence, I don't believe there is any shade over there. Those trees along the fence come in pretty handy when its 102 degrees out there, as was the case in '06.

And I don't remember seeing any seats over there either, whereas on the "regular" side you've got the bleachers. I sometimes bring an umbrella (for shade) and sit in the top row of the bleachers. If the action moves over to the other field, I grab a spot in the shade. Either way, you've got to load yourself up with sunscreen because it can be a long day out there.

    I did it last year.....

They feed you. The pass gets you on the field - so you are essentially on the sidelines.

Best part is at end of practice roughly 15 or so players come to you - away from evrryone else - to give autographs and take pictures.

Met Chad, Laverneus, Stuckey, Baker, DeVito, Cothcery, & Rhodes (some others that I can not remember)....We can all say what we want about Chad but he was great. He hung out talked football with myself my dad and my brother. Seemingly, took a real interest when I told him I was a HS QB....(back in the '80's). We talked about Marshall University, his family - he was in no rush, he just huing out and shot the BS for about 15 minutes.

Oh... just reading this. Okay, that explains all those "VIPs" that block my view, half of which are hardly interested in seeing the practice at all!

How many points are you up to???.....I'm up to roughly 75K in points.....I use the credit card for all business trips. I figure at this rate in 3 years my little giuy will be 7 and I'll have enough points to either get us on the field before a game or for him to be a tee boy.

You have way more than I do. I am up to 30,000.

I think my 30,000 could get me about $200 from NFL Shop.

I am in no hurry to use my points. Maybe I should wait until next year to see what the new practice field will provide for MVP seating.

Check the web-site for the card. Call customer service for the web site. There are many places / retailers that give you double points....gas stations, certain chain restaurants, supermarkets etc.

I think I'd definitely do that. I think the new facility is going to have a VIP Section that is truly a step up, not just putting you 10' in front of everybody else standing at the fence with no seats available. It'd be worth the one year wait, I think.
