#1 AJ HAWK OR Ferguson OR ? #2 Maroney Carpenter ? #3 Mangold Mangold ? I Don't know about you but any combo of these guys would work for me.
1)D'Brickashaw Ferguson 1A)Manny Lawson 2)Leonard Pope (can you say red zone target..6'7" guy who can run? wow) 3)Darnell Bing (for some reason I just see him falling to around here or very late 2nd..good prototype for the 3-4 SS...just underperforming...esp big games like the rose bowl, subpar pro day, injury history) 3A)Rodrique Wright (didn't do much ever so he falls, still has great talent and would likely be a great fit at DE for the 3-4) 4)Spencer Havner (could fall to round 4 just because of the LB class) 4A)Babatunde Oshinowo NT (this is around his area...might as well take another shot at NT) 5)Patrick Ross (dan koppen clone) id be really happy with that, some picks are slim streches but not by much if at all, the only guy that has the highest possibility of being gone is Bing, but his pro day wasnt amazing and like Wright, underperformed (though nowhere near as bad as the invisible Wright, plus has had his share of injury issues) basically we get a hard working center, an elite LT, a probable stud at OLB in the rusher mold, another good OLB that may even be able to move inside if need be, a giant red zone target at TE who can strech the field, a 3-4 SS that will fit well next to FS Rhodes, probably a solid..if unspectacular 3-4 DE, and a guy who may be able to fit our need at NT yeah its like pieces falling into place, but nothing given, and even if we got a similar draft no one really knows how any of those guys will end up doing in the NFL
Liked the first two picks. Hopefully Lawson will fall that low. with the second i would much rather pick mangold if hes there
If we get Leinart, there likely won't be a 1B. Right now I want Super Mario and Maroney, but if we could somehow get Leinart and keep #29 I'd be thrilled.
I think Carpenter is a better fit then Lawson and we have a pretty decent front 3 or 4 with Carpenter (also able to blitz/rush) and Vilma duo at LB we would have a pretty solid "D"
problem is we could use a big target to throw to, and jolley isn't really an answer at TE, and dreesen is nothing more than a backup...if he progresses enough...and baker likely isn't the long term answer either a hard working center is easier to find than a upper-level/elite TE, Pope could easily become that so basically everyone would rather have mangold and something special teamer most likely in round 5, when we could have likely a clone of dan koppen playing center for us (yeah hes not elite but he gets his job done and always is working) and possibly our own version of antonio gates (its a draft nothings a lock but pope could become a guy like him, and may not even be around at 35 anyway)
if you were the jets, would you trade down from 4 for denver's 15 and 22? if so, who would be there? 3 first round picks would be awesome.
I just finished a 2 round mock draft and right now I have Bobby Carpenter taken at 21 to the Pats and I have Deangelo slipping all the way to our pick at 29... For some reason I think Deangelo is gonna slip.
