I am starting a very dynamic ESPN fantasy football league for tgg.com and wanted to see how many would be interested. Here is the parameters: 20 teams Starting positions: 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 RB/WR, 2WR, 1 TE. Now this is where it gets interesting, instead of using a defense as a whole, I make it so you actually have defensive players from around the league (i.e. David Harris as your ILB and Jarred Allen as your DE.) each individual player will get you points that offensive players do. Here are the defensive starting positions. 1 DT, 2 DE, 3 LB, 2 CB, 2 S, 1 K. There will be 7 bench spots. I have used this format for 3 years and everybody that has been a part of the league has told me that this style is so fun that it puts yahoo or any other generic fantasy football experience to shame. This will be a league for active owners only please, if you will lose interest half way through the year, please don't sign up. I have the league created but have not selected a draft date yet, i will wait until we have enough players to set a date.
The head coach is only a minimal "player" for every win a coach gets it is one point, and for every loss it is -1 point.
I dont understand all of the negative posts. It is like running your own team, it actually takes some skill to run a team like this.
Well I already have one league like this, and i started this one up because the turnout was so good on the other one. Last year 18 out of the 20 owners were active...thats impossible to find. I put a poll up asking why everybody was so active and 17 of the 18 said that it's because it is the most unique way to play and with the defensive players added it put that much more emphasis on paying attention to every detail during the actual NFL teams during the week. It boosts your knowledge of the game a lot because you get to see every player in the league, not just the peyton mannings and ladanian tomlinsons.
It's not being negative. You're asking people to join if they're gonna stick it out. I would do it, but it's just hard to figure out how it works. Not to mention the draft must be over an hour long due to all the rounds to get a full roster. For example, you said the starting positions are all offensive positions, so when/how does the defense give u points? How do punters give u points?
