I'm in 225 now...but you cannot possibly tell me that ticket prices are going to go from $115, to $525??? Thats a 356% increase...unless there is a free Peter Lugers steakhouse in the mezz, with all the wine you can drink...there is no way to justify that.
Go to http://www.newyorkjets.com/contact_us/new?message=1 and tell the JETS: NO PSLS -- will it help -- no idea -- but they should be told by the thousands NOT to do it.
This is getting downright weird. The Jets have my email address too, yet I never got this "study." I've had my tix since 1986 and they've had my email address since 1999. They must be having "Harris Interactive" polling randomly to do their dirty work for them... study the levels of financial pain in each section and the levels of tolerance. When it hits Level 5 below, then they'll know they went too far: Level 1: How likely are you to pay a PSL of any kind? Answer: I'd probably pay it if I had to, to keep my seats, but I'm not real happy about it. Level 2: How likely are you to pay a 20% ticket increase on top of a PSL? Answer: Not real likely, and this is really starting to piss me off now. Level 3: How likely are you to pay a $5,000 PSL and a 25% ticket increase? Answer: How about Woodie has to service Bill Belichick on the 50-yard line at the beginning of the next NE game? I might consider it then. Level 4: How likely are you to pay a $10,000 PSL and a 100% ticket increase? Answer: I want Champ to be able to pork Woody on the 50 while he services Belichick, then I'll pay it. Level 5: How likely are you to pay a $15,000 PSL and a 356% ticket increase? Answer: Very likely, but now we're talking Superbowl halftime.
I'm not on the waiting list, I'm a season ticket holder as well (323) and received it by e-mail. With these types of surveys, they usually don't send them to everyone, just a small sample size. I wouldn't be surprised if 6 months from now they sent a different survey to some different ticket holders once they refined the offering.
I did the survey just now. Here is a tidbit: We expect to begin the seat assignment process after the 2008 season, likely using a priority-based system that accounts for season ticket holder account seniority. Those currently on the wait list will be given an opportunity to purchase season tickets after current season ticket holders. As the season progresses, we will send you more detailed information about the new stadium, seating choices and the sales process itself. It is important to note that the existing Meadowlands Stadium has 80,000 total seats comprised of 76,000 general admission seats, 142 club seats and 120 suites; the new stadium will have 82,000 total seats, comprised of 67,750 general admission seats, 9,250 club seats and over 200 suites. This means that while every season ticket holder will have the ability to purchase seats in the new stadium, certain general admission seat locations at the current stadium will be club seats at the new stadium, primarily along the sidelines on the mezzanine level and on the east side of the lower bowl at the 50 yard line. If your current seats are along the sidelines of the mezzanine or lower bowl, you likely are among our longest-tenured season ticket accounts, and your priority number should provide you an opportunity to purchase similarly located club seats or, if you elect not to purchase club seats, to purchase general admission seats at a later date in a different location. The Jets have taken on a substantial amount of debt to finance the construction of the new $1.3 billion stadium. Like other teams that have built stadiums in the recent past, the Jets are required by the NFL to pay back this construction debt quickly. Who really give an f about this part "But unlike other NFL buildings, the club seats in the new stadium at the Meadowlands were designed by a premier restaurant and hotel architect, David Rockwell, known for spaces like Nobu and the W Hotels" f david rockwell...
don't make me laugh, look at this BS, this was where you had to rate this idea. I gave it a 1 for FAIL miserably. Commemorative Brick Program - Your PSL is literally helping to build your new stadium. Your purchase includes a free commemorative brick that you can personalize and will be used to construct the entry promenade to the building:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
so theoretically, if everyone who is offered club seats (9,250 of them) declines...then they are going to throw out 9,250 current general admission ticket holders??? Because according to this, if you sit in the mezzanine, and decline to buy club seats, then they will sit you somewhere else. This is going to be a mess...I cannot imagine being offered season tickets in 2009, and ripped out of your hands in 2010. JUST AWFUL
Not quite if I read it correctly. If a GA tix holder has more seniority then a mezz season tix has then the GA season tix holder has priority over the mezz season tix holder
They should give you the option (based on seniority) of where in the stadium you want to sit, so if you elect to sit in a selection with low (preferably no) PSLs, then that is your choice and you get it because you've had the tickets for so long. That is the most fair option I can think of.
Or they should just charge the Giants fans double and let us slide. They're the ones with the good team and the money anyway.
I like that idea better. It would be even better if that would carry over into the season tickets too.
that's the option i would have checked. fuck this bullshit.if they want to charge that kinda money, they can go fuck themselves. oh, and i want a refund for the 4 tickets i've had since 1980, since they've only given me about 5 winning seasons, since then. the nfl sucks! i was happy with the old stadium.
What about Giants season ticket holders? PSLs help quickly pay for stadium costs. However, has there ever been another pro team that shares a stadium and maintains 2 equal PSLs? If there were going to be any PSLs at all, shouldn't the Jets ticket holder bear half the cost and the Giants fans bear the other half? Am I missing something here? No one seems to be bringing up that issue.
Are you kidding this is all i`ve been talking about since last Thanksgiving when they announced Dallas` PSL while I was out there for the JET game ,and Once again I will state the cash is already there they don`t need to rape the fans Here it goes one more time the stadium is supposed to be 1.8 billion the nameing rights to the building will go for 30 million a year times 30 years (the life of the stadium ) the comes out to $900,000,000 ($900 million Dollars ) just for that ,then each gate (A,B,C &D)entrance will get a name those will probably go fo $5,000,000 a year X 4is $20,000,000 a year for all 4 gates total X 30 years = $600,000,000 ($600 million more we are now at 1.5 billion already then they will have those 4 giant score boards inside each onne of those will get a sponser lets say they go for 2.5 million each that is 10 million a year more X 30 years is $300,000,000 ($300 million more puts us at 1.8 billion the total coast of the stadium this doesn`t count in the 300 million from the NFL the tv revenue the 200+ luxorey suites that start at $250,000 a year upwards of 1 million a year at the low number that raises 50 million a year more 5 million a year rent from Xanadu to each the JETS & GIANTS AND WE HAVEN`T EVEN GOTTEN TO THE REG. & CLUB SEATS YET. ,Fine make more profit but Psls starting at $2,500 a ticket still allows you to make enough money on the avg. guy making between $20,000-$50,000 a year
