How do you think we will do againts the Chargers on Monday night football? I am just asking because I live and San Diego and hate hearing all the Charger fans taking about how it won't even be a game.

Stopping the run is the biggest task... The Jets are known for playing them close, so maybe it could be a game, but the Line vs their Defense is what I worry about.

It could be a defensive game, but i'm thinking since we've just played NE the week before, then go all the way to SD for a MNF game, maybe this loss could be by 14+ pts.

Yeah the offensive line is needs to worry since the the Chargers are one of the top 3 defenses in the league if not number 1. But the same goes for our DL if we can get to the QB which i hope Rivers is playing i want to see if Pace and Gholston can blow him up. But the person that I am really scared of is Cromartie lets just hope that its not Chad leading the offense that game.

I was at the last game when the Jets played the chargers in SD and it was great watching Curtis ran all over the chargers and santana moss was catching the balls for td's

It will be close, but San Diego will be pretty tough to beat.

Our Defense will need to step up pretty big for us to win.

Yes it would be a really big win. Hopefully they can carry what ever they learned win or lose (hopefully win) from the Patriots game the week b4 and use it against the Chargers because I can not go to work the next day and hear it from all the charger fans

This is definitely a tough game. We'll be facing the best defense we've seen so far in the early season and will probably get a good idea of exactly where our offense stacks up.

defensively: focus on the run, slow down LT and don't give up big plays in the passing game

offensively: no turnovers - SD's defense creates a lot of them, control the line of scrimmage and stay out of 3rd and longs with merriman coming off the edge.

If we can do those things we win.

It's hard to imagine what might happen without seeing our revamped team in action. The season can't get here soon enough.

What I keep saying: If we are 2-1 in our first 3, we're in pefect shape. It means we either beat the Pats or the Chargers in SD on MNF.

Exactly my reaction. With our personnel, we could realistically be anywhere from 6-10 and another top 10 pick to 10-6 and a wild card berth.

It's hard to say since we have an unknown at the most important position on the field, not to mention it's hard to say if are oline will be capable of handling those OLBS they have. Not going to be an easy game...and that's if everything comes together by then. I have hope that this years team can pull off upsets like this...but w/o training camp or preseason games to watch it's impossible to get an accurate gauge on this team so far.

who knows. the Jets have been revamped pretty significantly but that doesn't mean they will be better, just as you don't know whether the Chargers will be as good, better or worse than last year.

not only can nobody can give you an answer you want, you can't even speculate. you have to wait until a couple of games are played at least before you start predicting performance.

game doesnt scare me alot, itll give us a good gauge of our OL. and especially the effect of Faneca between Brick and Nick. i expect them to put merriman over woody though and i could see there being problems there. woody will be a great run blocker out of RT but i think opposing DC's will test him with their best pass rushers.

this will also be a good test of our revamped defense.

i look forward to this game 2nd to only our divisional ones.

I think the Jets should play this one close to the vest, assuming their D can stop Tomlinson and Gates. Rivers is good too, but with pressure he can be made to look very poor. The issue I see if the Jets O against that Chargers D. Cromartie can pick off Chad's floaters or Clemens misfires. I think a solid running attack, play action, and settling for field goals so as not to throw INTs is the order of the day. Couple that with a fierce pass-rush and disciplined run defense and you can see the Jets win this one. It's going to be tough though, they have a damn good team.

Isn't it still a little early for this type of prediction ?? Can we at least see who gets through TC uninjured (on both teams) ?

Things look better on paper now but with all the things that could happen between now and the regular season, who even knows which player will start where.

43 years with this team has taught me not to count my chickens until the fat lady sings !

I wish I still lived in SoCal. Would be my third time there, and first MNF. As far as luck goes, we killed them in 2002, but we had to beat them 3 times in 1 game in 2004, thanks to the kicker who shall remain nameless and Barton.

Seriously. It is like discussing our chances against Tampa Bay in '09.

I live in SD and I purchased ticket already. SD fans suck. Most ignorant fans in the NFL.
