Besides the top 4 picks there are the raiders and cardinals who also need a QB, if he gets past the top5 picks he wont go past the 10.
It would surprise no one if Cutler is picked anywhere mid 1st round on down, even falling to the 2nd round. He's not that good and most scouts know that. Teams that pimp Cutler are jockying for position.
Denver has two picks in front of us and has said they're looking for a QB. I just doubt Shanahan passes on him twice, and if he does that says something about Cutler.
I think it is possible that he makes it that far, but i am sure there is another team that would move up from the second to get him
To the Cutler defenders/proponents.... I have seen it claimed that he was stellar in the Senior Bowl practices... But he was 6-19 for 69 yards against his "peers" in the game itself. Am I missing something? Shouldn't you be judged by what you do on the field and not in practices and workouts?
every bust is hyped by their college numbers, so there are always a few workout warriors that earn the same hype through the combine. its only natural..........think about people like chrebet. there is talent hiding, everyone has a story, injury stopped this recruitment. transfer of schools. Look at Ingle Martin, he was the number 1 QB recruit when UF picked him up, they put him at PUNTER cause of Grossman. He goes into 1-AA football and shatters every passing record. He also runs in the 4.6 range. With that being said I do understand the doubt that comes from people who recieved little to no praise on Saturdays being talked about as "top prospects" in the end, NO Cutler will not slip to 29, it is easily possible but I think he has seen too much press for at least 1 team before us to not have liked what they saw.
There is no chance at all that cutler will make it to 29. As for those who say that cutler is not going to be a good QB or he deserves to be drafted mid second round, thats not an accurate statement. I remember during about week 12 I was reading about cutler and many scouts were saying he is the "next brett favre" essp. bc he is coming out of vanderbilt. I would be happy with cutler, id be even happier with d'brick
I'm not 100% behind Cutler mainly because I don't know much about him other than what's been written. That being said, it is misguided to use his losing record or the fact that he only played at a small school like Vandy as a catalyst to prove a point that he won't be good in the NFL. Football is a team game and no matter how good a QB is, he cannot generate wins solely by himself. If Payton Manning wne tback to college and played for the same Vandy team last year, they'd be just as or almost as bad as they were. Secondly, the fact that Cutler didn't play for a bigger name school is equally as misguided as an excuse to hiim not becoming a good NFL QB. History has shown NUMEROUS QB's from smaller/inferior schools that have succeeded in the NFL. Pennington, Leftwich, Roethlisberger, Favre, McNair.....the list goes on. Cutler should be judged by the quality of the throws he made during the games, as well as his leadership qualities in college. He may not have won, but did he continue to keep his teammates motivated to win games, or did he quit when they were far behind. There's alot more to judge in a player than w/l record in college amnd the school they played for.
heh my friend today was like, what kyle boller's back in the draft when he saw cutler on tv today  probably what his career will be like
Cocky leader who is a natural born winner? Um... Cutler hasn't won ANYTHING... and when he was asked about his on-field performance, he used the lack of talent around him as an excuse... Cocky leader... Natural born winner... Riiiight..
no way this will happen, cutler falls to oakland at 6 or arizona at 10, either way i'm gunna laugh at how bad he sucks!!
