no wonder Gruden likes having 20 QBs on his roster...he runs them through the ringer till they shrivel up and blow away...and then inserts the next QB into his lineup.

I saw this coming last year. Simms just showed class by not being an asshole about his role.

sure what do we have to lose? bring him in and the top 3 qbs make the roster, and the loser(s) get tossed by the way side. Simms has starter experience so you never know...

I don't know if you're joking or not, but I would like to see us bring him in. He seemed to have a lot of potential to me and never really got a shot to continue improving after the whole spleen thing. I think he could compete for the starting spot.

I'm being serious. Simms has a lot of talent, but wasn't surrounded by much in Tampa Bay. I think he could compete for the starting spot as well.

I don't think Chad will be healthy the entire year and I question his and Kellen ability. We need an experienced QB as a viable alternative. Simms just might be a lot better then anything we have on our roster. GO GET HIM :jets:

All reports out of Tampa including last year said Simms hasn't been the same since the injury. His throwing was affected, at least as of last year. But more importantly, his spirit has been broken. Having his spleen knocked out has apparently given him David Carr syndrome. I was all about bringing him in back when Chad and Fiedler went down, but I'm not so sure he's the same QB anymore.

I haven't seen any of those reports. From what he's saying, it seems like Gruden just has it out for him. I don't know what to believe.

If he's damaged goods I certainly wouldn't want him, but if he can still play I'd like to bring him in. We have 876 running backs right now, why not bring in another QB to see what he has to offer. This is assuming TB cuts him.

That's the thing...nobody knows where Simms is at. I would be willing to bet it's by design, so the Bucs can get some sort of compensation for him.

The unfair treatment angle was all over the papers today. It was last year that the local sports radio was reporting that he had lost velocity and acting a lot more trepidatious after the viscera crushing injury he experienced.

Hey, maybe the fact that JG won't release him means that he feels Simms could increase his trade value in the preseason. Until I hear an actual performance report, last year being the last I've heard, I'm going to assume he's damaged goods.

If he's cut, I have no problem bringing him in. Nothing to lose and I'm sure he'd be happy to be home.

When Simms did start in Tampa the OL was a sieve and they've never had any receivers except for Joey Galloway since they won that SB. He's obviously going to be cut, just a question of when. Not crazy about him coming across publicly like a whiner, but it sounds like Gruden is just keeping him on the roster out of spite.

no simms unless cp or kc are so bad they get cut in tc otherwise there's no spot for him
ainge is almost guarenteed a spot and they won't carry 4 qbs

how about bringing in simms make it a 3 man competition for 2 spots loser gets dropped? or you could even make it a 2 man competition between the vets, (penny vs. simms) loser gets dropped, winner of that competition has to duke it out with clemens for the starting spot... ainge becomes the cheap man who carries the clipboard.

Once Simms is cut he'll probably be available for the vet minimum. Problem is the longer Tampa Bay holds on to him, the less time he has to learn a new playbook and get in synch with receivers and backs. If the Bucs don't cut him very soon, Quinn Gray would be a better option.

Of course simms could compete for a starting job with the jets, thats what happens when your Qb situation is one of the worst in the NFl. Only question is , would his
talent around him , be any better with the jets.

...the Raiders' QB situation is THE worst in the NFL.

JaMarcus Russell has done less than Kellen Clemens to prove he can play in the NFL.

Who's the backup in Oakland, Andrew Walter? ...wow.

Pennington's been to the playoffs, and won in the playoffs...Russell has never, and will never step foot on a field during the playoffs.

You ask any NFl Freeagent WR, who more appealing to play for. The Raiders with jamarcus Russell, or the Jets . withgarbage K clemens or Chad Pennington. Your dellusional if you think any one of them, would pick the Jets.
Jamarcus Russell is a potential franchise QB. Your QB's are franchise killers. Get the diffrence.
