I fully understand why people are pissed off, and I don't totally disagree. The point I'm making is that he's already here. He should be given a chance to prove himself in camp, and let the cards fall where they may. If he fails, he's done. If he plays like he did in '06, then what is the harm in keeping him? I really hope people don't honestly believe this is the first time a player has ever been guilty of slacking after getting a new contract. It's just the first time you've seen a player come clean about it. Priniciple over the best interests of the team is why Pete Kendall didn't get some more money. It would be principle over the best interests of the team if BT wasn't even given a chance to prove himself in camp.
Done and done (except perhaps the pistols at dawn part. If I can avoid it, I'd rather not bleed all over my breakfast particularly since it is the most important meal of the day...)
you and i almost seem to be in complete agreement. you're a lil closer to forgive and forget then i am but other then that i'm right with you. to cut him is crazy and it hurts our team. it's not like if we cut him we can go out and sign another player with the money. it'll just go into woody's pockets. let him come to camp lets see what he can do. i think he's gonna fall behind on the depth chart and start to slack off again but i hope to god he proves me wrong and puts up good numbers.
besides... a rotation of 3 pass rushing OLB's who have either high expectations or have semi-proven themselves is great until u figure out that gholston is a stud... no sense cutting one
