So, a Hall of Fame ballot with first timers Mike Piazza, Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, and Roger Clemens on it, and only Piazza makes it?

Unless he's joined by Julio Franco ....

It'll be interesting which hat will be chosen that he will wear for the HOF

More years and more team success with the Mets, but his best years were with the Dodgers. The answer is clearly the one he gave when asked about this a few years ago - the Florida Marlins.

Considering how many Dodgers are already in, it would be nice if he wore the NY.

First off, I'm not going to be offended if they put an LA hat on his plaque.

If it were my choice, I'd go with the NY hat because he was the star player on a Mets World Series team. He didn't go to the World Series with the Dodgers.
Also, the home run he hit against the Braves in that first game back in NY after 9/11, might just be enough to break a tie in the hat battle.

My favorite Piazza moment in person was the 5-6-04 game, which the Mets won 2-1 on an 11th inning Piazza home run.

They were discussing which team he should go on is on Boomer and Karton. Personally being an outsider I believe he should go in as a Met. He meant more to the Mets team than he did to the Dodgers team imo.

My personal favorite Piazza moment (tied with his post 9/11 HR) is his 3-run homer on fireworks night at shea in 2000 to cap off the 8-run comeback vs the Braves. That was the night when it just hit me how special that 2000 team was.

Of course I hope he goes in as a Met, but I'll understand if he's a Dodger. His best years were there. However, he immediately gave the Mets a shot of respectability and shot up to be the face of the franchise. As well, he made his only WS appearance with them. I believe when asked last year, he hinted that he'd love to be in the hall as a Met as well.

Man, I miss Howie Rose's Piazza HR calls.

That 9/11 Home Run was the most important in the history of New York City.
