OK, so the Jets and Giants are coming together to build a new joint stadium. Then why do the G-men get to have their training facility at the joint-complex, while the Jets, once again, have to schlep back and forth to Florham Park? We pay our fair share and still do not have full rights!!!
And will remain that way untill we start to build a WINNING tradition for this franchise. That's just reality
Yep.. And all the West Enders and Dolan-Owned Politicians that couldn't give a damn about New York City football but only their own selfish interests..
No taxation without representation!! I call for civil war.....um wait...scratch that. I live 10 mins from Florham Park, I'm gona be living at camp Tangini!!! Wooooot Wooooot!
We may be sharing a stadium but going to a Jets game is so much better than a GIants game. At a Jets game its alot of young people who get drunk rowdy & yell & scream. At a Giants game its all old people that sit on their hands the entire game. Jets Games > Giants Games I may be biased because I'm all about the Gang Green but Jets games are way more fun to go to (in my experience).
Why do Jet fans have to constantly complain about everything? You don't have to worry about them transferring from place to place. Do you drive the bus or carry the equipment? No. So quiet yourself and let them worry about it.
well look at the bright side, in two years at the rate the Knicks are going the city will be begging the jets to build a stadium as will dolan, since he'll be paying that rent out of pocket since the knicks can't profit
From what I've heard, despite the fact that the Knicks are the biggest joke in sports, they are still making money, and even if they stopped, Dolan will make money from plenty of other places.
Woody will get what he wanted all along "MONEY". I hope he rots in hell along with Dolan and the NY politcos who screwed us out of the Jets. Jet fans will also get what we deserve for being too loyal to a team organization that doesn't care about tradition and loyality. The curse continues...
CORZINE A 'NICKEL & DIMER': PATAKI AIDE By FREDRIC U. DICKER State Editor http://www.nypost.com/news/regionalnews/63872.htm Finaly Pataki shows some balls. That whole state should rot in hell April 2, 2006 -- ALBANY - Aides to Gov. Pataki are "outraged" that New Jersey officials, including Gov. Jon Corzine, are "nickel and diming New York on the most important redevelopment project in the world" - Ground Zero, a high-level source told The Post. Pataki himself was described by the source, who is close to the governor, as "extremely disappointed and concerned" about new roadblocks to redevelopment raised by Port Authority officials loyal to the New Jersey governor. Pataki's aides even accuse Corzine of seeking to "steal" New York jobs by stalling the Ground Zero project - even while New Jersey uses public funds to keep New York's National Football League teams on the wrong side of the Hudson. "Many of us are outraged that while New Jersey is nickel and diming New York on the most important development project in the world, at the same time they've managed to come up with $100 million in funding to keep New York's teams in New Jersey," said the source. "They are putting in $120 million on a $800 million stadium deal and are holding up a $7 billion project for a like sum. "New Jersey's economic-recovery plan can afford to shell out big bucks to keep New York's football teams at the same time they are stealing New York jobs by stalling recovery in Lower Manhattan." Late last week, New York's entire congressional delegation, in a rare joint letter, told Corzine to get out of the way of rebuilding Ground Zero by giving up his "desire to maximize the fiscal benefits" to New Jersey under the redevelopment plan. "This is an important decision that first and foremost should be made by New Yorkers," the toughly worded letter stated. The Port Authority, which owns the Ground Zero site and is jointly controlled by Pataki and Corzine, has failed to reach an agreement with Larry Silverstein, who held the lease on the World Trade Center, over how to proceed with redevelopment plans. New York officials blamed the hold-up on last-minute haggling with New Jersey officials, who insiders said are trying to hold out for a deal on a $6 billion Hudson River commuter rail tunnel. Another problem, according to PA Chairman Anthony Coscia, a New Jersey appointee, is a demand that Silverstein make a "substantial" contribution - believed to be $100 million - toward the World Trade Center Memorial. The payment would be a concession for reduced rents he'll pay if, as expected, the PA takes over responsibility for building the centerpiece Freedom Tower project. A deal being considered would have Silverstein give up the rights to the Freedom Tower while a fifth tower, south of the World Trade Center site, would be developed as a residential high-rise
It was an option to the Jets to have their site right near the Giants site, and they elected to go for their own location, that's why.
