    Hawk - 6'1'' 240lbs - 2005 141 tackles - 4.42/40
    Williams - 6'7'' 290 - 2005 14 1/2 sacks - 4.69/40
I would have to go with Williams over Hawk but its really close. We all ready have Vilma and we need more help to get sacks then tackles.
I am a newbie so if this has been done or its just a crapping thread sorry.

I would like for the Jets to take one of these guys but I think its a tough choice. The 3-4 is built on LBs so that favors Hawk. I think Williams is probably the better player but there are questions of his ability to play the 3-4.

  3. Thats simple..Williams has better value and fills a bigger need.

I would have to go with Williams also, any time you can compare a player to Peppers and add 20-30 pounds to him, you have the potential to be great. Only problem is that there is a much greater risk of a bust in his case then I think with AJ.

Yeah, Mario has definetly emerged as the best defensive player in this draft and we need a pass rusher now that Abe is gone.

I think the Jets should pick Mario. He will increase the pressure and force the Offense to play around him, and he fills a need by the way

Not that many votes yet but it is pretty close. I figured that it would be about the same for each. It is going to be one hard draft for the FO this year good luck too them.

Williams. Hawk is a slightly better player but we'll be fine with Barton and Hobson on the outside. We need a replacement for Abraham desperately.

Tough choice here..There is no boubt Williams is a beast but you normally don't have pass rushing ends in a 3-4 which might lean us towards Hawk who could be a better fit as OLB plus a 4.4 is pretty damn fast. That LB core would just be insane. This is such a tough choice beacuse if either of the 2 were drafted I'd be very happy. At least it is April now 4 more weeks til draft.

I think it would be safe to say that either way we can't go wrong, Hawk and Vilma would be insane and would be comparable to top defensive LB cor such as Pittsburgh and we all know about Williams....All I can say is I hope Mangini stays defensive minded when it comes to our #4 pick

Hawk would be a great pick if we had the 6th or 7th pick but we have the 4th so if we stay there is Williams or D'Brick

Williams. a big man with that type of athleticism is a huge advantage of different line fronts. he should be able to play any hybrid system, which is what they'll use. I also don't think that type of talent comes out every draft, where you can find good OLB's.

I would rather have Super Mario. I think we already have a pretty good and solid linbacker core. Dont get me wrong, AJ Hawk would be a great addition, but Super Mario would fill a whole in DE.

I give the edge to Mario just because in his interview he stated that he wanted to play for NY. What more do you need then that?

    Can I vote NEITHER?

If we go defense with #4 I will scream.

If there isn't an offensive player we want at #4, then trade down. DO not go defense with #4.

Between the two I'd take Super Mario, ASAP. Linebacker is not the JETS biggest need and there will be plenty in the later rounds. Players like Mario Williams don't come around that often and when they do you draft them, NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

I agree that we should be taking an offensive player, but if a trade down isnt available the we should go BPA.
