Let me rephrase what I wrote, i may have given off the wrong idea. I didn't mean so much as if Mayock is wrong about a prospects talents he is incorrect, i meant more of if he is wrong in his mock draft about where a player is going to go, what pick/which team, he doesn't care- he lists the scouting facts about the player just drafted and moves on the next selection. Kiper and McShay will sling bullshit to put down a player because they didn't go where they wanted to or if they make look bad. Mayock is much more honest and insightful, not to mention accurate. Out of his top 100 players, 90 went in the top 100. To be 90% correct like that is quite impressive.
WHY? Because I look at our past and see a lot of bust. I'm not saying he going to be but we all know the draft is a gamble.
Hey, anybody who has ever watched Gholston play knows he can be a lazy bum. That's why so many people had him listed as overrated. At least that is something that can be easily fixed and in no way diminishes his talent or abilities. It's really more up to him than anybody else whether or not he ends up a boom or a bust for the Jets.
I think it?s because he mentioned a player in that the stats are not comparable; and it?s a little unfair to already box and ship a player out labeled a bust, that has people saying "McShay" is a dumb ass! Who are these people that actually matter to the average fan? It sounds like Katie Couric talk "Some say" That Vernon Gholston will be a bust. How do you respond t that?
As someone insightfully discussed in another thread, the reason Tangini fills the roster with high character guys with good football dispositions is to help set and enforce the standards of the team. The veterans on the team will help Gholston discover is high motor on a consistent basis and will not let him take plays off. It may take some time to achieve but he will get there.
Given the number of Super Bowls we have won and when, it is very easy for the media to come down on us because in their minds it has the highest chance of making them look good.
McShay=Plagiarist. He should be honest enought to attribute his "work" to all the bloggers whose work product he has decided to call his own on national TV. When will the network realize this putz doesn't belong in front of the camera extolling the virtue of one player he doesn't know or watched enough film of over another player he knows even less of. Why even listen to what he has to say. Seeing him on ESPN automatically makes me want to change the channel.
Yes and didn't Gholston just abuse a certain O-Lineman picked ahead of him when they showed his highlights???
