http://www.nypost.com/seven/04232008/sports/jets/details__details____107656.htm I love that our organization prides themselves on being very detailed when they interview players for the draft. Seems like alot of the players enjoy the intense atmosphere, but at the same time, enjoy Mangini getting to know them as people. Cool stuff.
Great article, thanks for the post. It sounds like Mangini and Tannenbaum really try to get the pulse of everyone they talk to. This is probably why they've had some good success in the draft the past two years.
That is a great article. My new suggestion to the Jets: Trade down with Carolina, draft Mayo, and pick up an extra second rounder. Second round draft Tracy Porter (or another corner) and Jordy Nelson. Look out playoffs.
Something tells me they instituted the "eight-page test of plays and adjustments" the day they realized how big a mistake they made with Schlegel.
Thanks for that. Hah, the thread title made me laugh. Looks like you got drunker and drunker as time went along. Save that for after the draft! Word Play. :drunk:
Not a huge fan of Porter or Nelson, but I really like Mayo and wouldnt be upset with a trade down to 13 for him. I still prefer the trade to 10 then to 19 with philly scenarios though...
this is why i believe 100% in a CS/FO for the 1st time ever in being a Jet Fan. I believe in this regime way more than Tuna's.
Lets not get carried away. While I'm very pleased with Mangini's thoroughness, the results have to translate to wins. Very cool article.
Good article. The quote, "New York Jets: All Football, All Business" brought a sense of pride in this FO and CS. I hope we get something going this year that builds for many years to come.
The fact is everyone is down on the FO / CS because of last year, but last year was not as bad as a lot of the other losing seasons we've had in the past. More over, the time you find out a person's true character is when things are going bad, and things are most definitely going bad for Mangini / Tannenbaum right now... and how have they responded? They went on a bonanza, identifying and targeting players in FA who will help rebuild this team into a winner. They didn't sit there and wait to die ala Herm. I'm sure they will continue to do so in the draft, and in the 2008 season. I love this FO / CS and really hope they succeed.
