anything 3rd and higher and my opinion will change.but we need #10 under center for 1 more year. imagine a great OL and a good 1-2 TJ and Leon. chad running the playaction will be very effective.
Nothing else to add to this, in my opinion. The rest of the surmising is not in the NYJs' best interest, I think.
I would be quite happy for Ryan to be wearing green and white opening day. Glad the drafts this weekend, I couldn't go another week
Chad's a good player who just wasn't used properly last season. We had a porous line, no running game and receivers who dropped way too many balls. His strength is play-action and that's great for teams that want to build their team around the running game and defense. Personally, if we don't get a low 1st for him, it's not worth trading him. He's going to be good this year, just watch.
Anything higher than a 3rd and I'd wrap Chad up in a bow and drive him to Baltimore myself. Ravens fans would see it as the 2nd coming of Dilfer...but smarter. I think Chad would have fun there. Running game with McGahee on par of best days with Curtis, couple of decent WR targets and he doesn't have to play against Ed Reed.
"It's no secret that the Jets are in love with the BC quarterback, and if he is available at six, there is a very good chance they would take him." What is this guy talking about we didnt even bring him in for a private workout
You're right. Ryan NEVER visited NY, BUT they did go to BC, where they said they were also looking at Silva (who I want badly!) and Cherilus, who we've no shot at unless we trade down.
No need for a private workout when they already sent him part of the playbook and spent 4+ hours with him (the Jets contingent being Mangini, Tanny, and Schotty) on the BC campus. They didn't bring in Revis last year either. They did an under the radar meeting with him on his turf.
Who cares what the ravens are interested in tell them to go soak there heads and have fun with kyle boller.
Believe me, the Ravens are not looking at Chadley to solve the QB problem. That would make Baltimore a junk yard for QB's. We are stuck with him for one more year, hopefully, waving a towel
I wish i got paid 6 million to carry a clipboard and work on my tan. I have a feeling we'll know more or less the fate of Penny after this draft.
Given the amount of money we spent in the off-season there is simply no way this ever happens. The only way it makes even a shread of sense is if the Jets keep Chad and let Clemens go to the Ravens for a 3rd or a 4th rounder. Sorry, even though I am in the camp of "Chad's arm is not what it should be", there is no substitute for experience in the NFL. Plus, is this really true - Chad for a 2nd rounder; are we sure it is not the other way around; we give our 2nd rounder for the Ravens to take Chad.
Chad's strength is playing QB -- he doesn't have the strongest arm, but he is one of the most heady players behind the center in the NFL. Give Chad a credible OL that can run and pass block, and he will take some rude advantage of a defense. Also, I feel that Kellen will learn to do the same with a better arm than Chad. The bottom line is the OL that dominates the line of scrimmage, of course.
Who needs a strong arm to hand the ball off 40 times a game.behind our new revamped line and rbs tj mcd and leon i like chad at qb
Man, those Ravens are downright devious. Here they go talking the NYJs out of their veteran QB in exchange for some more newbies. The triumph of the cherubs is what they are promising us. Experience doesn't count for nothing. Go with those Kiddie League Boys -- they'll take you away!
Oh please, it's Clemens 3rd year in the league. If he doesn't have it by now he never will - all the more reason to draft Ryan. The Chargers traded away Brees after Rivers only spent one year on the bench. It seems to have worked out for them.
