http://media.putfile.com/Vince-Young-05-Highlights http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXXBL4b5NfY I don't want to draft a Qb this year but if we do at #4 I'd take VY over Cutler anyday. There are alot of his runs in the highlight films but he makes some great throws too. Let the hating commence.
I like VY, I just dont like his 4.58 40 time. Yea he is elusive but if he is a scrambling QB I would want better. Plus his college style offense scares me in transition to the pro's
If I had to choose between Cutler and Young, I'd take Young 10 times out of ten. I think he's gonna be an excellent QB. And I have to laugh at the Michael Vick comparisons. Simply put, thier is no comparison, IMO.
From what I've read (which could be complete BS) VY wasn't planning on running a 40 at his pro day (which is weird cuz its pretty standard isn't it) & they talked him into it at the last moment. Whatever the case his game speed is fast. I don't want to draft a QB either but if we do I go Young
like chad johnson said sometimes you get nervous.. chad rana 4.5 and yo can see he is faster than 4.5.. i can say that about vince young the guy is a legit 4.4 imo
i don't care what his 40 time is. he dominated everyone in college...he showed that he was the fastest guy on the field in the National Championship game. He beat USC with his legs.
Yeah but he wouldnt do that in the pro's. He barely got hit in the Rose Bowl and played against an attrocious defense. This doesnt diminish he's phenomenal game but he beat up on undersize and slow lb's and plays a typical college offense.
I cannot see Tangini staking their future on Young. Not in their lifetime. Never gonna happen. He' does not have good fundamentals and is not smart.
Are you insane??? If young fell to 4 I'd take him in a heartbeat. He has tremendous athletic ability. And he isn't a Michael Vick mold despite what most people think. The only way I trade down this draft is if Leinart and and Young are both gone at 4.
As things stand now he's gonna be there at four no doubt, but Im going to have to say thanks but no thanks
Because he is raw, lacks the decision making to start in the NFL right now,is a project where ever he goes and to me has bust written all over him. I like him but just not on my team. Im a pretty big college football fan ( GO Canes) I watched him since he was a freshmen and I just felt he played in a system which was basic and wouldnt translate in the NFL.
I said it before and i'll say it again. Vince Young and his shot-gun option bullshit MADE FOR COLLEGE system will not work. His throwing style is a joke, it's horrible, this little flick of the wrist junk won't work. Cade McNown was in a great college system at UCLA and how did he do? Young would have to learn to go under center, stand in a pocket, READ DEFENSES and his dumbass can't even get a decent score on a test...Change his throwing style, etc. If the Jets take him at 4, i'd be very pissed. Bust of the draft.
Fine, then consider his game against the Ohio State defense. Make no mistake, Vince Young knows how to play QB. He's got a powerful arm, is a great playmaker with his legs, reads defenses well--any comparison to Mike Vick is totally unfounded.
Once again I like Vince he can play QB, i like him but I think he's to much of a gamble. My theory on Vince is he will either be one of the best QB in the Nfl or one of the worst. That hit or miss gamble just isnt what I would want to take a shot on, plus I would love to take Super Mario at 4
at least somebody agrees with me http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/5395466 Vince Young's mechanics are similar to Rich Gannons (who is 2" shorter than Vince). If my memory serves me correct Rich led the league in passing a couple of years back. Vince "Human Highlight Reel" Young is the truth. (I'm sure nique wont care if he steals his nickname cuz he deserves it)
Vince Young is no where close passing wise in his progression as a passer to Rich Gannon. I can throw just like Peyton Manning with the hand signals and squinting eyes and everything do u think I could throw 49 td's. I am not a VY hater
Jees, i hate when people say Vince is Dumb because of his wonderlic. He scored a 16, if he scored a 30 would any of you guys change your minds on taking him with the 4th pick? Also, about wonderlic scores pretty good NFL players had low wonderlic scores, and please dont tell me you wouldn't want any of these people on your team, cause you'd only be fooling yourself. Donovan Mcnabb - 16,12 Vinny Testaverde - 18 ( why weren't people against him and his low wonderlic score when he came to the JETS?) ? Duante Culpepper - 15 Randall Cunningham - 15 Dan Marino - 14 Antwaan Randle el - 17 Steve Mcnair - 15 stop with all this he's so retarded cause he scored low on a wonderlic test, Headcoach Mangini said something about Vince Young's low score # Young's poor Wonderlic score: "I've been around players that have had low Wonderlic scores that have been some of the smartest players I ever coached. . . . If you get to know them, you're thinking: 'How could he possibly grade out at this? He's so much smarter than his score indicates.' Then you have dumb smart guys. They've got great scores but they can't figure it out. They would do great if they had to write a paper before each game. As smart as they are and as good as they are in the classroom, they can't put it into action." Vince Young will be a superstar in the NFL in the upcoming seasons. If the Jets, are looking for a QB and Leinart is gone Vince Young should be the man. (even though i wouldn't mind Leinart at all - i doubt he'll be on the board @ 4th overall) Vince Young @ 4, if the JETS decide not to pick him - down the road people will regret it. my 2cents
