With the huge hole that we have left at center.

I think we should look into getting Grey Ruegamer.

We would be able to get him for a very little money and he would be a solid addition. At the very least a hold the fort guy.

He is not that old and would bring instant credibality to our C position.

I really hope we bring this guy in unless if our FO is in love with Mangold.

I think this would be a better sign because it would cross off one of our needs and then with our 29 or 35 we could target tackle.

It could look something like this.

    LT-Jones
    LG-Kendall
    C-Ruegamer
    RG-Moore
    RT-McNeil/Winston

    Sign me up for that.

Isn't this guy a career backup? Why the hell would we want that?

Wow, where did this come from, are you related to him?? J/K.
I don't agree that he brings instant credibility to the center position. IMO, he is a versatile backup at best although I haven't tracked him much since he left the Pats. I don't believe he is a FA so you would have to swing a trade, not worth it in my opinion. If you want to fill the Center position out before the draft there are much better options out there then Reugamer (i.e Mitchell, Teague, King, Raymer, etc.). JMHO....

    Actually I am his father!!!!

Just playing, but he played for GB last year and did a pretty good job.

I look at it like this. A rookie center is kind of a gamble because he is inexperienced in reads and assignments. Thats huge for a center. Also we can still draft Mangold but Ruegamer would be a good sign in terms of depth because we could play Ruegamer at guard or center he would be a very good back up to say the least and easily could hold it down starting.

Appreciate your post, but I think Katnik would even be better. When Grey was with Miami, Jimmy Johnson fumed that the defensive lineman went right by him on pass plays.

There could be worse things than going into the season with Gray Ruegamer as our starting center. Like starting Norm Katnik for example.

That's right. If you were responding to my post, I gave you the reason why the Dolphins gave up on him. I remember reading about Johnson being shocked in training camp that d-lineman ran past him like he wasn't even there.

i don't think he is a free agent, but i would love it if he were on the jets even if just for depth purposes. I saw him play a little last year and he didn't do horrible by any means. Besides Grey is my girlfriends cousin and with him on the team she may actually give a crap about watching games with me.
