Now now, no going out and trying to make sense. I mean, the Sky is falling. We spent money. Noooooooooooo!

Don't spend money. We are cheap. Spend it and we are in trouble. We just can't win, can we?

no, they don't. in fact, they are probably shocked there is a draft, will pick a player, and will have to pay him. they just weren't counting on that freak occurance because it only comes about, oh, I don't know, every year.

Just imagine how stunned they'll be when they find they have to play some games in September...

    Games in september?????

Honestly I thought about our cap situation but there is no way any NFL GM is that big of an idiot to not save enough room for their top draft pick.

Actually, i think right now, we don?t have enough space to sign our Draftpicks, we?ll have to make some adjustments before next season: DRob, Chad, Barrett come to mind. I hate the fact, that DRob holds all the Cards in his hand, and when we can?t trade him, and he?s not willing to redo his contract, he?ll be cut. I think we can rework the contracts of Chad and Barrett, because they know, they won?t get the same money anywhere else. So we won?t have trouble getting below the cap.

With the money spent, Robertson is history unless he willingly restructures, which I doubt.

Chad isn't going anywhere and his contract won't change. Obviously Robertson is or it will.

We still had 5 or 6 million left after all the FA signings. I don't know how much the Rhodes extension bites into that but the Coles guarantee didn't change a thing. When Robertson is cut, traded or resigned at a lower price we will still have a ton of money to spend. So all these writes who say the Jets want to trade down because of the Robertson contract or the Rhodes extension are just writing bullshit because they have nothing else to say. They may in fact end up wanting to trade down but not because of money.

Teams are only allowed to spend 4.8 or 4.9 million on their entire draft class anyway (cap wise) so we aren't talking about a lot here. That includes Miami who will end up giving a 60 million dollar contract to the number 1 pick.

I'm sure Mike Tannenbaum.. the guy with a law degree from Tulane and a guy who has worked cap numbers for what.. 10 years or so, has probably done his math homework!

    We'd better.
He's supposed to be a cap "guru" so If he messes this one up it's his head.

I'm more excited with us signing and keeping our players.
I have complained about this for years on how cheap we are with our own players.
So hopefully he doesn't fk it all up.
