pro football weekly reports the cheaters are interested in lito sheppard, despite reports he's not available. they think he'll be dealt before the draft.

It would cost the Pats more than their second round pick to get him. I can't see it happening. The rumors I saw earlier today were that he will probably be packaged with the Eagles #1 pick(19) to move up to #9 or #10 making his value at about a mid-second rounder.

i would mind if mcfadden, the longs, and gholston were gone if we swapped first round picks with the eagles and got shepperd. it would really solidify our secondary for years and immediately make the defense better

I would trade our 1st for the Eagles 1st, Shephard and maybe a 4th. Would allow us to take a Limas Sweed or James Hardy in the 1st and then Curtis Lofton in the 2nd.

Wow, you guys just love to see the Jets screwed, don't you? If he is worth a mid second round pick then it would cost the Eagles Sheppard, their first and their second to just get close to the value of our first. Won't happen.

We could trade our second for Sheppard and Philly would still have to throw in their third and fourth too.

    Yeah, I'd be down for Sheppard, #19 and a 3rd for our #6...that's a 3 for 1.

David Hutchinson from the Newark Star Ledger's blog this afternoon:

Meanwhile, on the draft front, if the Jets decide to trade down, one possible scenario has them dealing their sixth pick overall to the Eagles for Philadelphia's 19th pick and CB Lito Sheppard. The Jets desperately need help at CB and Sheppard did an excellent job against the Patriots' Randy Moss last season.

I still say they take Arkansas' Darren McFadden if he's there at six but if not, all bets are off.

the eagles would really have to want a certain player to part with their 1st, shepherd, and another pick...they are not exactly a team that is one piece away
another draw back...shepherd is going to want a new contract...and he is being given the value of deangelo hall/higher...basically would have been better to steal asante samuel away at that price

I would love that deal...we'd probably be able to get the best or 2nd best WR on the board and get a great corner.
