Actually, the article says that the Panthers wouldn't take him in the trade, that they wanted draft picks. The article says that they'll be involved when he's released. The Panthers didn't try to get DRob when the trade happened.

Unfortunately, every team in the NFL knows the Jets don't want to pay for any of his contract, so they will all just wait around for him to get cut.

I cant believe that we cant even trade him for a conditional 09 Draft pick at this point that would be better then nothing. But I am starting to agree more and more with the people that say he will be cut. He and more importantly his agent knows someone will give him a contract once we cut him.

Exactly why Bradway is now a talent scout and not making the final decisions on Contracts or draft picks. The D-rob fiasco will be delt with by June 1 one way or the other.

Nobody is willing to pay a guy with bone-on-bone the kind of money we're obligated to.

So after we cut his ass, yeah, teams will be after him, but he'll be lucky to get 30% of what his Jets contract is. The f@cking idiot should work out a deal with Tannenbaum now for 50% of what he has coming and remain a Jet, but both him and his agent are either too stupid or too pig-headed to realize that.

I still think he'd provide serviceable depth or even be able to rotate for a few years despite the bone-on-bone.

    F@cking Bradway.

I'd like to think this is true, but once there's a bidding war between at least the 4 teams we know about that are interested (not to mention who's kept their mouths shut so far), he's gonna get >60% and that's probably what they're banking on.

Okay, so let's assume that is so. DRob and his agent have to choose right now between an offer from Tannenbaum at, let's say 50%, or a possible offer at 60%. That still doesn't compute in my mind... you take the bird in the hand.

But that's not the way DRob is thinking right now, even though he's failed two f@cking physicals and therefore been rejected by two independent teams other than the Jets.

Seriously, what are they expecting now? Humongous offers? Let's get real, DeWayne.

It'll definitely be interesting to see how this plays out...we do know that at least the broncos, bengals, panthers, and lions are interested. He may be gambling, but it's not such a bad gamble. It would be really funny if he ended up with a 1 year prove it contract though.

all 3-4 teams play 20-40% of their defensive snaps in a true 4-3 alignment. hell, ne played 100% 4-3 against us last year.

having drob line up in a true 4-3 20-40% of the d-snaps aint too shabby, plus his knee will last a hell of a lot longer than playing nt in a 3-4. of course he will still have to restructure, but having him would be a huge plus.

the jets would be the ONLY nfl team with BOTH 3-4 and 4-3 lineman. imagine trying to game plan against that.

I'm leaning toward this particular scenario playing itself out. Of course he's not going to restructure with us. After we just drafted his 400lb replacement.

You can't just blame one person for that. His huge contract had a lot to do with draft position and Bradway panicked and traded up for him to 'make a splash'. As far as the structure of the contract, I believe that all goes on Tannenbaum.

The problem is he is trying to get a contract extension and a raise. I can't blame him, but if he just wanted out of town, they could easily rework his current contract.

Say we do work out a deal for DRob, will he be able to ever be a starter at DE?
