I appreciate your honest review of Bradway.

  2. Yeah, bradway is highly respected throughout the league for his eye for talent. His problem as gm was...exactly that. He's a scout at heart.

What I mean by that is scout's have a habit of falling in love w/ "Upside" and "physical skills", and often forget the financial/draft value ramifications of throwing the farm at a prospect.(Refer to B Thomas and Robertson). This is why alot of scouts throughout the NFL...even the best of the best, never make it much pass Bradway's current position...they don't look at the whole picture.

I believe Bradway is in the perfect position now...and if not for his lousy time as GM here....he'd be an absolute asset to this organization.

He's a decent scout for LATE ROUND TALENT where "Upside" and "Physical Skills" really do count for something. As a GM, he was in WAY over his head. He needs somebody over him to say NO once in a while which is exactly where he is right now.

Sorry Gm but you missed the point on Morton. Bradway made us look like a laughing stock when he screwed up trying to match Wash's offer sheet. As a lawyer myself I can tell you that matching an offer sheet is NOT difficult--all you have to do is basically photocopy the offer sheet, and then change the name of the team. After Dumbway bungled that, he then had go to arbitration to try to prove he DID legally match the offer sheet (which he hadn't). When arbitrator Bloch disclosed that he had redskin season tickets, Bloch offered Boobway the chance at a different arbitrator--Dumbway stupidly refused. Bloch then rules for the Redskins (surprise!). It is law school 101 that you NEVER agree to an arbitrator who has any connection to the other party. Also, since arbitration awards are not appealable, we were stuck with the decision. As you said, Morton didn't then set the world on fire, but Boobway's handling of the affair had us the butt of all jokes. I am not an expert, but I did handle my cousin's son's negotiation when he signed with the Lions in 1999, and can tell you it is not hard to match an offer sheet--Our former GM couldn't even do that.

you don't draft a kicker on day one if you think your team is close, you draft a kicker on day one if you know your team sucks and will be kicking FGs all year instead of scoring TDs.
