Except Ryan most likely won't be there unless you trade up to #3. So not quite that easy. And trading Chad is easier said that done.

is there anything between bust and star in your mind???

He?s 24 yo and started 32 games on the arguably most different position in football, how can you call him a bust?

Average or below average? But to be the 4th overall player in the draft & not be a above average means he is a bust since with the 4th overall player in the draft you should get the best of the best

Spoken like I a guy who hasn't watched D'Brick all that closely in his two whole seasons.

Ask Jason Taylor, Dwight Freeney, Terrell Suggs, Trent Cole, Osi U, Schobel, Burgess, Geathers, and whoever else he's faced if he can pass block...

Mangold isn?t the best C out there, and was picked as high as any C so he?s a bust?

I think I already explained that. Like I said earlier, if wasn't taken as high as he was I would look at him differently. Another way to look at it is what do you think we would get if we tried to trade him now? I can't possibly see anything higher that a 3rd rounder.

We must be watching two different games. Just ask Clemens and Pennington where the pressure comes from on every play, that would be better.

The problem here is just, that in your and champ?s mind, there?s only black and white.

And i think you underrate his passblockingskills big time.

Only relative to the cost like I have said. As far as his pass blocking skills think in your mind how many times you see Clemens and Pennington running for their lives to their right vs. to their left and that should answer that.

No, but he was picked at the bottom of the 1st so it's not the same. However, don't even think of comparing him to Mawae even at this point in his career.

Picking a C or G in the late first round is like picking a LT in the top 5.

    1. They?re both right handed, so it?s natural for them to run to their right.

    2. Does that mean Clement is a better passblocker than Brick?

    3. Brick?s not the only one on the right side. Watch some of last year?s games again, and look closely who opponent rushed over on the left side.

amen. if they trade out of #6 with dallas, the 2 #1's and a 3rd will give them a wr, qb, olb, and cb.

And they would tell you from the LG assignment-- your going to say that all the pressure from the left side is Brick's fault?? He had the worst starting LG next to him in the past 5 years and your saying its all brick... The scouting report on him said that he's not the next Orlando Pace... 4th overall understood, its not his fault everytime

Just because its the left side does not mean Brick missed his guy--- hell, i remember when we praised him this year for locking down guys like Osi, Taylor, Freeney, and Suggs. Watch the tape.

If you watched the games in DBrick's first and second year, you would see that, in spite of who he had to play with on the OL, he steadily progressed. An offensive line can be only as good as its weakest link.

    I agree with these guys:

    1. The development of an offensive linemen typically takes 3 years. You need to look for small improvements w/ technique, maturity and overall performance. When you look at Brick's technique from year 1 to year 2....there is a WORLD of difference.

    2. He completely shut down Uyi, Jason taylor, Terell Suggs, Vanden Bosch, and has generally done well against the Patriots outside rush packages.Unfortunately people only notice the bad plays he makes. And it is true he needs to become more consistent. That comes in year 3 and He will be fine…”
