Sorry to come across as the ultimate pessimist, but, which one of our new signings will sustain a major injury either in camp or off of the field, ala LaCharles Bentley and other major signees????? For some reason, it seems like a lot of big money free agents end up injured before they could make an impact.
If anyone is going to have an injury it will be someone big body like Jenkins. If I bet on all of them none will get an injury
Off-topic here, Trey... I live in Denver surrounded by Bronco fans and a lot of people are wondering what happened with Marcus Thomas? If I remember correctly, you have some connection to him and were talking about him turning a corner around draft time last year. I know he was is using the "just a passenger excuse," but out at 2:30am in a truck with weed, cocaine and a gun doesn't seem like he really has learned much from his past.
Nope with the Jets luck (As usual) we will pass on Mcfadden and T Jones will have a career-ending injury in the second pre-season game.
It's the Jets. The free agents will be fine. David Harris injury jinx will probably blow up and he'll be the one to go down in camp. Why do the Jets always wind up with the Vilmas and D-Robs and Harrises in the draft? The guys who either have a significant injury history or a chronic condition? Food for thought.
If Harris gets an injury then i know we'll never win it all ever again until we change our logo and owner like the Pats did. Oh, and get a HOF QB again...
Exactly, even though injuries are part of the game, I would like to believe that everything will pan ot OK. The team spends much more time in conditioning and getting in shape then it ever used to under Herm. That has to count for something. While it doesn't prevent injury, it has to have some chance at helping avoiding it or lessening the severity.
Actually, this is not another "just a passenger" excuse. The guy that he was riding with was a high school teammate of his. They were at a local club here in Jax, when Marcus decided to leave his car at the club and drive with Bryce (the high school teammate). Bryce had the gun and drugs in his car. He admitted to it being his, so why is there still speculation? The bottom line is this, the Broncos tested Marcus immediately and he came back clean on everything. Now, he should be accused of using poor judgement for not leaving his bad seed boys behind and still running the risk of getting into issues like these. Bryce, on the other hand, was a hell of a player himself who ended up going to Georgia Southern; unfortunately, because of a lot of the same issues it did not work out there. Trust me, if it were something to worry about, I would. Marcus knows what he has to do. It may be hard to leave your boys hanging, but he realizes that he has too much to lose.
Thanks, Trey. (My only point is that a guy who should no better in a car with bag of coke on the passenger floorboard...just disappointing, i guess)
