Best closer in the game right now. That's all that matters.

Also, that pic is from an event Mike Lowell put on where it was a Dancing with the Stars type thing to raise money to fight cancer in children. Not really something to make fun of.

At least he didn't let family members get electrocuted in his pool.

if he set that shirt on fire while he was wearing it, i might respect him in the slightest...but nonetheless...total queerbag.

Regardless of cause, that shirt is DEFINITELY something to make fun of. A lot.

I never said you did. I just said that his outfit was part of a benefit to fight cancer in children. I think no matter what ANYONE is wearing due to that should be free of ridicule.

Nice to know that donating time/money to a cancer charity provides an athlete with total immunity to ridicule. From what I've gathered from your posts, you're a bright dude. So I have to strongly doubt that you're believing the shit you're slinging right now. If it were A-Rod saying something ridiculously dumb (as he's prone to do) at a charity event, something tells me you wouldn't be chastising those making fun of him.

Good for Papelbon that he's doing charity work. That has ZERO impact on how fruity that shirt is*. And I'd bet my life's earnings that you are fully aware of this in some hypothetical non-hometown-homer dimension. I think making peace with the fact that your closer is a moron is a good thing.

*Just so you don't try to pull some personal-experience-moral-high-ground-trump card on me, I've lost an aunt, an uncle, and a grandmother to cancer, so I know firsthand how awful it is. That's a large part of the reason why I'm heading to grad school to (hopefully) work in a lab geared toward cancer research. Professional athletes working for charitable causes is all well and good... but it's not Teflon.
