This was an email I got from Major League Baseball...... pretty cool. I have to admit that once again it appears that the Yankees will outdue the Mets. The new Yankee stadium looks awesome while the Mets park reminds me of the New Comisky.

Actually I think Minny, Oakland, and Washington all have the Mets beat.

I like the Twins going back outdoors. Supposedly, there will be an excellent view of the city skyline.
The Washington stadium will afford fans a view of the U.S. Capitol.
The Athletics stadium will be the most wired ballpark. The video board in centerfield will air the game on the back for fans out on the street.
That ballpark will be in Fremont. Fremont is roughly 20 miles south of Oakland. They'll probably keep Oakland in the team name, but probably should not.

Wow, do I disagree - the new Yankee Stadium looks to me to just be a reworking of the old one, just a mass of concrete. CitiField is IMO much nicer, with the asymmetries and brick all around the ballpark.

New Yankee Stadium, whats different? You loss all the historic value the old one had for a replica with better concession stands. Met fan or not, the New Yankee stadium is clearly the worst of the new ballparks. It looks like a hunk of grey and navy blue thrown together, pretty much pure crap.

...also i think i can take a shit with more personality then the new yankee stadium will have

I can agree that Oakland may have the Mets beat, but I think you may have just seen the CitiField virtual video too many times, because I dont know how you can think the Yankees or Washington have outdone the Mets.

The only thing I can tell from those videos is that the Yankees spent more money on having the rendering done then the other teams.

The new Nats park looks outstanding.

The Twins don't seem to be able to afford a computer rendering of theirs.

Or it looks like the Classic Roman Colosseum type stadium it has been compared to.

    History 101.

I would love to see somebody play in exact replica of the Roman Colosseum, I really like the old Yankee Stadium granted it's a bitch to get too and in a bad area and no parking and very expensive shitty hot dogs and beer but there arn't too many places better to watch a baseball game. I guess that's why my geeky ass minored in history.

I wanna take my son there before they move.... you can't get more classic than Yankee Stadium.

They should totally bring the Yankees to Manhattan. I hate having to go up to the shitty Bronx to watch them play.

New Yankee Stadium will be state of the art. It's ashame we can't say the same about the management. Oh, and Randy Levine will still be an asshole in the new ballpark.

The air shots of the new YS next to the old YS are cool.

I have to say that I think all of them look very nice and I'm hoping they'll all function as nice as they look.

I think the thing I like most about citifield is that it's got a lot of character going for it. The odly shaped outfield wall, the overhanging right field upper deck, the rotunda pulling out from the playing field. I honestly can't wait for it. For any naysayers of it, click on the video on the right in the link Rich provided. It shows a really nice walkthrough of it.

My only problem with it is how much more difficult it is going to be to get tickets, given the loss of 12,000 seats. I would like to be able to take my father (the Brooklyn Dodgers fan) to a game there, as I imagine walking through that Ebbets Field-inspired rotunda would be an amazing experience for him.

i thought 47,000 would have been a good number, but at least every seat is going to be good
