Found the news on a german gamespage. Too lazy to search for a english link. The old contract runs till 2009 now EA has the rights till 2012 and won?t (have to) make a good Madden for the next 5 years.
Oh don't get mad they just fired the lead producer and got the guy who worked on NFL tour. 1st year of Madden under Moore also, so I'm sure they'll improve it.
the same NFL Tour that is easily the worst footbal lgame of all time? 10 Yard Fight is snickering at NFL Tour. John Elway Football thinks NFL Tour sucks. Heck, NFL Football for the NES wouldn't wipe it's ass with NFL Tour. I'm completely confused at how you are attempting to laud the move by promoting the producer of NFL Tour.
...You do know that this guy was working on Madden before the last guy right? He did Madden's '01 thru '06, along with NCAA '98 and '99. Not to mention he did Tour with little next-gen experience and 1/2 the usual development time. Don't know about you but Maddens since '06 have stunk.
neither of those NCAA games were great; Gamebreaker was a better football series than NCAA then. and Madden 01 through 06 may not have been bad games, 01 was actualy pretty good, but they were stale and outside of the jump in technology that the PS2 offered over the PS1, those games offered very little advancement to football games IMO.
As long as the XBOX side of things are back to the way they were I'll be happy... The past 3 Madden's have blown completely
I'v loved the past 2 maddens, 07 and 08 for the simple fact that I luv to play online against other people when my girl is watching her tv shows and stuff like that, I dont know... I just this its tight how I can play other people and get my @ss kicked with my Jets... With all that said... Still... I think Madden would be that much better if the 2k series was still around, the Gameday series... You know? I just think Madden is slacking a little because no1 is on thier ass. I know this is a football site, and a Madden thread... But MLB Show is like the best online game I'v ever played, those games get so exciting online
This isn't the greatest of news. Madden hasnt made true drastic improvements in the series since at least 05. They will have no pressure to up the ante's and we'll keep getting mediocre maddens.
no, you keep getting mediocre Maddens because the sports gaming public continue stop buy in droves mediocre Maddens every year. you wont get change until people stop buying it every year for minor tweaks and roster updates. if that is what sells, why change the formula if the market doesn't demand it. there philosophy is clearly save something for next year.
