If Chris Long fell to #6, that card would be up at the podium in about 5 seconds.

Haha, Goodell would just read off the Chiefs pick, switch to our index card and announce Chris Long

That would be great, except he'll be the #1 overall pick.

That was a great article and it makes me wish we had the #1 pick... since C. Long will not be around at #2, much less #6.
I have read about how we should draft this "impact" player or that "impact" player ad nauseam, and finally, I have found a true "IMPACT" player. Unfortunately for our JETS, it will be for Miami. :jets:

I just saw a mock that had him slipping to #6 based on Gholstons stock rising. Who knows – would cap off a pretty damn good offseason.

I just can't see it happening - I would be shocked if Long is not long gone by #6, and I would put better than even money that Miami will take him #1.

Of course the answer to the original poster's question is that the Jets would grab Long in a heartbeat if he was still around, unless they are completely brain dead.

If not the Dolphins than the Rams at No.2. It sucks because, yes, Long is what you'd call a "Mangini' player.

If he falls even to 2-4 we might try like hell to trade up to take him there.

Only if we want to be bad again in record time. We didn't exactly sign a bunch of spring chickens in free agency and if we trade up in the first round for the 4th time in 7 years we absolutely deserve to be a terrible team from 2010 to 2012 or so.

You shouldn't be surprised, it's what this FO does.
