I'd rather get their next 3 1st round picks(2 in '08, 1 in '09). The next year pick is always valued at a round lower than it is.

I think it is all BS. Just something to write, but hope it is true.

On the trade value chart it is worth more, but even if all the Jets got were their 2 1st rounders, in this draft I would do it.

They could come out of the first day with a quality pass rusher, RT, and WR. That would allow them to move Coles, perhaps move up and get an impact WR.

IMO, if either of the QB's can play, this team will be in the hunt

I like your idea but it might be too rich for Dallas. How about the price the jets paid for Drob in 03? Two #1s and a 4th rounder.

not true. the history of the NFL is filled with guys who were drafted in the late first round and early second that were better than top 5 picks.

I'll settle for #28 and DeMarcus Ware.

Anyway...The two #1's and a 2nd or 3rd next year sounds okay by me.

im going to use this example as it has been bandied about on this board for quite some time.

    dbrickashaw ferguson
    nick mangold

most here will say mangold is the better player at this point and he was early 2nd while ferguson was early first.

i really do like the idea of trading down if you dont have anything that you really want and can do a good job of pickiing up players you really want down the line. the question is what is the front office really salivating over, for that i really dont have an answer.

hell they could do some crazy stuff and move out of the 6th overall pick up the 2 first rounders from dallas and a 3rd and then move back up into the teens to draft a guy like sweed. who knows but it could surely be interesting. i dunno would the 22 and a 3rd get us up to 15? what would it take? there are just a tremendous amount of possibillties now that a number of holes are filled and the draft is deep. i really think its going to be a fun draft day.

I've seen a lot of ideas in this thread, but using that draft chart this works also:

    #22, #28, 2nd rd
    for
    #6, 2 4th rds

That way Dallas doesn't lose any picks and we'd get 4 players in the 22-60 range overall. If we really wanted, we could probably trade down again to recoup a 3rd or 4th, but I'm not sure I would. Just imagine coming out of the draft with a haul like OLB QGroves, OT CNicks, WR DThomas, and DE DMoore, which would be very possible. That's a lot of solid talent to add to the roster. Of course we wouldn't pick again until the 6th round, but I'm not sure I'd mind.

I'd definitely trade down with Dallas. Having #22 and #28 would be nice.

I think thats a little too generous. You have to figure (if Dallas really wants McF) that they are willing to part with their 2 1st round picks. We could simply tell them to throw in their second round pick and if they do, its a done deal. If not, no deal. If we had to, I guess we could throw them our later 4th round pick- but we should hold out on that until its clear that Dallas wont throw us their first 3 picks for our #6 pick.

Do it for Marion Barber III plus a 1st and 2nd rounder.

i hope Dallas trades with us ...i would take both ones and their second rounder for our one and a late fourth rounder.... the rest is history...but Canty is nothing to sneeze at either....another reason for trading down is for cap situations

I really think that when Mcfadden is available we'll take him...and in the end..i think that will be the right choice.
