I am a true Jets fan ! I have questioned My coaching staffs decisions in the past and will continue to do so. I felt that last year was a major waste. Its real easy to look at the current moves that should have happened last year and get all nostalgic and want to call people out , but it was everyone on this board complaining about the non-activity they showed and the Let it roll mentality that was 2007-08. It is a great day to be a jets fan! I haven't seen this kind of activity in quite some time. There is much time till training camp and I look forward to all the Pennington Vs. Clemens threads. My 9 year old just signed up for football and I'm in La La land for football right now. :jets:
So if i'm not content with the fact that we got rid of Vilma, Robertson , Eric Coleman for almost nothing and gave the most money ever to a 30+ year old lineman to cover their ass from last years mistakes means I'm not a JETS fan? or I'm never happy? LMAO. what a joke. Why can't I like who we got and be upset at who we lost? Is that ok enough to be a JETS fan or does this not qualify?
This is definately an exciting time to be a Jets Fan, the last time we had this much activity was during that crazy Kotite year, where we signed a lot of players and ended up 1-15. Unlike that time these are top rate(and not just expensive) players to fit into the right positions. Hopefully Tangini carry on learning from their mistakes.
Agreed and seeing that Kendall IS gone and the mistake WAS made, why are we still dwelling on it? I mean really, it's not gonna change the fact that the Jets screwed up royally LAST YEAR and it's not going to bring Kendall back, nor do I believe giving up Kendall caused our 4 - 12 season. I believe it was standing pat (no pun intended) while the Pats got better, thinking we could contend with what we had, and players SORELY out of position in systems not built for the players at hand. That being said, it's now the off season and we're looking towards the '08 season, so can we give the coulda, shoulda, woulda's a rest? I like what we've done so far THIS year.
... the moves of trading away Vilma and Robertson tells me that the front office and the coaching staff are in alignment and the owner trusts them completely. This does not mean it's a good thing, or that they will succeed. It does mean that they are being given every chance to succeed. So! for now, I will give them all the support and wish that we will all be calling them geniuses in January. After all, if you don't make the moves to win in March, you are not giving yourself the best chance in January.
Look, they traded them away for less than their value in peak years. On the surface, at the moment of the trades, they seem ill advised. However, if you look at the big picture, the cumulative compensation for all of the said players will result trading those acquired picks to some team for another first round pick in my estimation. These are the fucking moves I've been waiting for, if you are displeased, even after a year of stagnance, you are out of your mind.
