This is all great, but my biggest fear is David Barrett [mod edited]

As a Jets fan is watching D.Barrett play 7-8 yards back and give up the easy out route, hook, curl or slant EACH AND EVERY TIME... This whole offseason I been whishing that we would spend the money on a player like A.Samuel but it's looking like he's going to the Eagles.

Yes... Having Jenkins to anchor the D-Line in the 3-4 is HUGE for the simple fact he is larger than V.Wilfork and will demand double teams and S.Ellis should have a monster season, and lets not 4get D.Harris. D.Harris played like the ROY behind ROBERTSON as a ROOKIE... I can only imigane how he will play behind Jenkins and as a 2nd year starter. Im confident that the Jets defense will not allow 4-5 yards up the middle each and every play with Jenkins and Harris working together.

Now... If we actually sign Faneca... Oh my god, wow... Can you all believe we missed P.Kendall? Pete Kendall? are you kidding me? Not only would Faneca upgrade the LG position with a PROVEN Pro-Bowler... But he would also improve the whole left side of the O-Line, Mangold would then become one of the best centers in the game, and I honestly believe Ferguson can start to become the Franchise LT that we drafted him to be with the 4th overall pick 2 seasons ago playing next to one of the best LG's that Iv ever seen.

Thats actually upgrading 3 positions on the O-Line with one player, not to mention the time Kellen will have in the pocket plus the holes Thomas Jones and Leon Washington will beable to run through... Faneca can upgrade this whole Offense, it's actually pretty scary.
    ----------------------------------------------------

Now with all that said.... Yes I know that we need a #3 WR... But maybe... Just maybe either Brad Smith or Stuckey can fill that role...

I know we need a RT really bad... But I really believe that this Jets front office will draft RT with the 5th pick in the 2nd round after we draft a V.Gholston or even McFadden in the 1st round...

I know we need a speed rushing DE, but at the same time... Coleman wasnt garbage and who knows whats going on with robertson... He may stick around and become a powerfull 3-4 DE.

Revis and Rhodes are 2 possitives in the secondary, but the #2 CB position is really bothering me, what do you all think we should do? I know you cant make a team perfect in one offseason but at the same time... Barrett, Poteat or J.Miller is going to get this team killed in the passing game

    Get Faneca.
    McFadden in the 1st.
    Cherilus in the 2nd.

We'll be on our way to being where we want to be.

Barrett is like 4th on the depth chart. Poteat is the current starter unless Miller beats him out in camp. We may still bring some more depth in, who knows.

Stuckey will be our #3, watch. I cant wait to see this guy put up another monster camp, and hopefully stay healthy this time.

There is no speed rushing DE in the 3-4. Coleman is a run stuffer, and Ellis gets his sacks with power, not speed. For the 3-4 you get speedy OLB's such as Gholston, or even Thomas (2006 version).

If Stuckey stays healthy (big if) he will be a very solid #3 for us.

All offseason I wanted McFadden... But now im starting to lean towards V.Gholston, Defense Wins Championships and this Jets Defense needs alot of work as far as the LB postion goes

I'm hoping we can get a CB for D-Rob. Like I said in another thread, a D-Rob for Dre Bly swap makes a lot of sense for both teams.

Any word yet on Drayton Florence? He's a corner that might make some sense.

I think if these 3 things line up, then we can really get excited about next year.

Or if we had to go the Gholston route with the #6 pick because McFadden wasn't there we should also be excited about next year.

Personally, I'm not too sure he's an improvement over what we have now.

Yes, either of them 2 would get me real excited.

If we get Faneca and McFadden is there, there should be no question at all who we pick. We need a big impact player and a face of the franchise. Look what Peterson did for the Vikings.

Never thought about that... How old is Bly? 31 or 32?

No worries , it early and there still many moves to be made. Come to think about it , I have never seen a released or free agent list so full of quality players before . Its like going to the fresh market.

Like NY really needs more kids from single parent households with absentee fathers roaming the streets (j/k).

Sorry bud but I think that If Gholston is there, he is our pick.

Even with the signing of Faneca?

I would take McFadden and than Groves in the 2nd.

I'm not as sold on McFadden as I am with Gholston. But then again your proposition that includes Groves at 2 (provided that he's still there) also sounds good.

Honestly dude, if David Barrett is our biggest concern, we've come a long way. Try to see the silver lining on the golden cloud.
