If we can get him for 4 years, no matter the price, the deal is absolutely perfect. He'll be 35 when it's up, just about when he'll likely start declining. By that point hopefully we'll have drafted a young guy into the fold who will be able to step in.

After the painful visions of Seymour coming straight through our line passed the Clarke turnstile forcing Clemens to throw and intercetion and then pancaking the heck out of Clemens in the endzone on the second play of the game, I welcome Faneca with open arms. The money is worth it, if we don't have to see that again.

Can't blame the Jets if he doesn't sign..... it's a great offer and with Faneca seeing that the Jets are trying to become contenders by aquiring Jenkins that may also sway his opinion as the Niners are light years away from becoming contenders.

Excellent point, plus we still have a #6 in the draft and the #37 pick. Faneca's eyes should be wide open.

the only thing that matters with any of these contracts is the up front money. the rest means nothing. will you say its too much when we're in the playoffs?

Bingo!!! I'd like to give a guy who is considered by most to be an "elite" OL as much money as he wants. Lets not forget the reason Brady is the best in the biz is mainly because he of his OL. (oh and he knows what play the defense is running before he gets the LOS) but look how terrible he and the Pats were when Neal got knocked out of the SB? You win with the line and the FO knows that otherwise they would not have spent 2 1st round picks on DBrick and Mangold. If they get this done the left side of the OL becomes "elite"

Ok... Im pretty down that the Saints just laughed all in our face with the steal of Vilma... Im freaking down as a Jets fan

But... And I mean BUT... If the Jets land Faneca, WOW, I will be pumped up for next season... Our left side of the O-Line will be one of THE BEST with Ferguson turning into a Franchise LT playing alongside Faneca, Faneca who is a Pro-Bowl tyle LG and still have ALOT of great years ahead of him, and a beast of a center in Mangold... Wow... If we can upgrade the RG or RT position... Not both, just one of the two... I see this Jets line being a top O-Line for Thomas Jones and Leon Washignton with Kellen having time to make plays.

Jets have a crap load of money... Sign Faneca for the O-Line, and Sign A.Samuel to make this Jets secondary one of the best in the league with Revis, Rhodes and Samuel

This would be HUGE. Imagine him between D'Brick and Mangold.

Please get this done! Come on Alan!

I would love to get Samuels to but does anyone know how we will look capwise after the Jenkins and Faneca paydays?

If a Saints fan gives you shit just remind them that if he has a good year then we could end up with their 2nd round pick...maybe even their #1 if he goes to the probowl. Don't be upset...the Jets front office is probably expecting Vilma to have a good year and because of it will be rewarded next offseason.

Not to mention we might be signing Damien Woddy and hopefully resigning Kerry Rhodes.

I doubt we will have the cash to get Samuels. I am ok with that. I don't want a 100 million dollar CB.

No I agree but with Dyson gone the FO is putting alot of stock in Miller and Barrett. What about Gay Randall?

Come on...lets be honest. Just tell the Saint fans that are giving you crap to learn the phrase "2ND AND SHORT" because thats where Vilma made most of his 100+ tackles...about 5-7 yards off the line of scrimmage..and that was in a 4-3 not a 3-4.

Vilma was a solid player...but some of us need to take it easy with him. Regardless of the injury....there wasnt a line at the door to pick up "the next Ray Lewis".
