Ok, you " Woody is cheap" crowd or who boo our owner and embarass us Jets fans that think he wants to win as bad as us and wanted to go back NYC as much as you queens people. What do you have to say now? Does he need to be over the cap to make you happy. Thanks Woody for spending and keeping your mouth shut and let football people make football decisions.
This thread is a bit premature it will probably be valid at some point but right now it is too early. We havent spent any money yet all indications are we will and spend alot of it but at this point it is nothing more than talk.
check you season tic prices, even for section 314. none of this is woody's money. instead of praising woody, praise the fans who over pay for seats, jerseys, hats, parking, beer, soda, hotdogs, concourse D titties, and tail gating. ooops, scratch the last item. but i do get your point. it is nice to see the jets slamming down some serious green.
The 2007-2008 Jets seasons remind me a lot of the Pats 2006-2007 seasons. Deion Branch insists on a fatter contract, throws a tanturm, the Patriots play hardball and trade him. The Patriots finally went down in the playoffs because nobody could catch the ball. That off-season, they drop huge dough on the traded player's replacements, sign a huge linebacker and make it to the Super Bowl. Pete Kendall insists on a fatter contract, throws a tantrum, the Jets play hardball and trade him. The Jets lose all season because nobody could play left guard. This off-season, we're dropping huge dough on the traded player's replacement, trade for a huge DT and...
I kill Woody all the time for having off-seasons of Kimo and Kenyon Coleman and having Adrian Clarke at LG....but if he delivers Faneca and one other moderately suprising signing, I will sing his praise of '08, but would need more than a 1 year wonder to truly call him a committed owner. I think this much is fair to say.
Woody is cheap and he sucks and I am still waiting for a SB since 68 and we will NWO becuase WIC and TTEOTS
I don't think Woody is cheap. I just don't think he really cares that much about his football team, or knows enough about the game to demand they be great. He's just a rich boy that bought a hobby and now gets to hobnob with the big wigs, like a glorified country club. Bill Bidwill... that dude is frigging cheap.
The Carolina Panthers have traded defensive tackle Kris Jenkins to the Jets for third-round and fifth-round draft picks, both ESPN.com and FOXSports.com are reporting. The big-bodied Jenkins should fill the void the Jets have had at nose tackle since moving to a 3-4 defensive scheme under coach Eric Mangini. Jenkins had 38 tackles and 2.5 sacks last season for the Panthers and was due to receive a $1 million roster bonus next week. The Jets are likely to trade Dewayne Robertson, who was the team's nose tackle last season. Damione Lewis is expected to take Jenkins' place as a starter for the Panthers.
Cheap and desperate. New stadium opening, recession and co-tenet SB winers. The Jets need a good year to get top PSL money. $5,000 more or less per seat is $400 million dollars up front. If competition breeds a better team, I'm happy about it.
Woody is not cheap, the Front Office has been a little too tight with his money, they realized their mistake and are taking action to rectify it. Keep the signings coming!
Curious, why would you call out people who were saying that our owner has been cheep? He has been until now.
