The NFL is brilliant! They've managed to turn the concept of players' salaries rising is something they're customers are happy about! Oh good, we get to buy more players.

Yes, and we get to pay higher prices for season tickets and merchandise.

I've never heard so much excitement about the start of free agency, not just among Jet fans. Tonight's midnight start time has people as excited as the are around the draft.

    the NFL is brilliant though

probably one of the most successful run businesses on the plantet... no toher professional sports league can compete with it

and theres a reason theyve flown under the radar while baseball has been murdered with the steroids thing

Ticket prices would be going up regardless.

I still say the price of a Jet game is a bargain. That said, it won't be in 2 years. My tics are $75 each. Hell, $20 parking pisses me off

tickets are going up what $5 - $10 depending on your seat location this season and the new stadium prices are already scaring me just thinking about it.

No one can compete with it....because it is a monopoly that is sanctioned by the government.

Hate to be Captain Obvious, but that is simple economic principles. People bitch about the long wait to get tickets and the expensive prices out there. The point is, people are willing to pay those higher prices and the supply does not even come close to meeting the demand. The solution is to jack up the prices until you get into more of an equilibrium with supply being slightly shorter than demand. The New York Jets should charge as much as they can so they can have the money to fund things like maybe one day getting their own stadium or being players in free agency or hiring better staffs, etc.
