I don't think anyone can complain of these moves. Maybe Dyson is a hair of a surprise, but MacCraphands and Clarke "The Human Turnstile" are no-brainers.
Glad to be rid of Mccareins and Clarke, would have liked to keep Dyson around, especially since i think he has a cheaper base salary than Barret for this season, but i could be very wrong on that point...
Dyson needed every ounce of speed he could muster. The foot cost him big time, whether he or the team would admit it in the Injury Report or not.
my biggest fear: winning the superbowl only to have mccareins raise the lambo over his head then dropping it on coles' foot breaking it (the foot) garuanteeing mccariens a roster spot for another season
I can't believe I didn't see this earlier. ESPN News just let me know of the news. I'm very pleased to see McCareins is gone. He hadn't done anything ever since Heimerdinger left the Jets. He had his catches here and there, but he was just not a good receiver for the Jets. Dyson had his fair share of good games for the Jets, but it was time to part ways with him as we know what Revis is capable of. Clarke is a different story, but I'm glad he's gone, put it that way.
FINALLY get rid of brad smith? First of all...he is only in his second year. So to say we should FINALLY get rid of him is ridiculous. I think Brad Smith has under performed too, but to say we should get rid of him makes no sense. Alot of WR's bloom in their 3rd year.
Dyson was hurt on and off all year and basically useless, I see no loss in cutting him. And the other 2 was overdue.
He's been very good on special teams and can be useful as a gadget player from time to time. As far as being a receiver, I don't have much faith in his hands getting better. People have told me you can get better hands with drills, but I'll believe it when I see it. I'll readily admit that I am clueless when it comes to wide receiver development but it just seems like catching a ball is a god given talent that you either possess or you don't. As of right now, Brad Smiths hands are worse than Justin McCairens. Running patterns are something I can see as a coachable trait. Reading defenses should be coachable as well, and Smith should have a good grasp on that already as a former QB. Catching the ball? I don't see it, but I hope to be proven wrong. He is a very good athlete that contributes in other areas.
Dyson's been gone since he sat back and watched Plaxico Burress meander down the sideline for a 78 yard TD in the Giants game.
That's what Ive been thinking about. Dyson's tackling was pathetic last year. You nailed it on the head holmes.
