So I was casually checking out some FA guard scouting reports on ESPN.com/Scouts Inc. and couldn't help but notice that our very own Brandon Moore was listed in the top 10 guards in the entire NFL. While I found this to be beyond shocking, I found his profile to be even more hilarious: _____________________ 2007 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc. Grade: 75 | Key Alert: B Comment: Moore is strong, fairly athletic and versatile. He can play inside or outside and probably could fit in either a 3-4 or 4-3 scheme. He has quick feet, runs well and has fairly smooth hips. He shows good acceleration and range. He has decent body control and change-of-direction skills. He has great upper-body strength and establishes good hand placement. He gets under blockers' pads and uses his hands well to disengage from blocks. He is aggressive and will club up to jar the ball loose. He is a productive special teams contributor. But Moore lacks ideal instincts and technique. His play recognition and feel for the game need to improve. He has trouble playing through traffic. His pass-rush moves need refinement and he lacks the stature of an ideal edge rusher.. ________________________ HAHAHAH. That is classic.
alright, so at least they have an excuse, sort of... but that's still pretty bad, especially since he's on their top 10 list and probably has been for years. dumb.
There's also a linebacker on the 49ers named Brandon Moore. I remember their pictures were switched around in Madden 06.
Ahhhh an interesting thought... however, you'd be wrong. Here's THAT Brandon Moore's Scouts Inc. profile: _________ 2007 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc. Grade: 62 | Key Alert: None Comment: Moore has adequate size to play the linebacker position and he has the versatility to play inside as well as outside and he appears to be a good fit for the outside linebacker spot in the three four defense. He has good foot quickness and good running ability and he is fairly smooth in his hip turn. He shows that he has good range and he has decent body control and change of direction skills. He has great upper body strength and he has good hand placement and he does a good job of getting under the offensive mans pads and striking and getting separation. He uses his hands well to dis engage from blocks on the edge however he has difficulty playing through traffic to the ball. He is better when he can play on a man and when he knows where pressure is coming from. He shows good acceleration to the ball and he goes to the ball aggressively and he is a good strong tackler who clubs up with his arms. He lacks pass rush technique and when he puts his hand down to come off the edge he lacks the stature to pass rush effectively versus an offensive tackle. He does not have good play recognition and he lacks the natural instincts for the position. He needs to become more consistent in his play recognition and get a better feel for the outside and what the position demands. He is a very good competitor on special teams. ______________________
Has to be...that guys a damn good player man... *Edit* Oh. I probably should have read the whole thread. Anyway...our Moore's a much better player than he's been given credit for by the fanbase. He (like all of us) really misses Kareem McKenzie though.
No he isn't. He is average RG when he has great players around him. Otherwise he is mediocre. On top of that, he is a walking false start. The guy has way too many penalties to be on a championship Oline. He would be a good backup though. Just not a starter.
Haha...the Madden franchise: just another sports-related organization that still doesn't give a sh*t about the Jets
