Keep one, draft a replacement for the other. Ignore salary cap and contract limitations. Who do you keep?

Thomas without a doubt. He HAS to be moved back to the weak side though.

Id keep Thomas. He has way more upside, although at some point i guess we have to stop calling it upside and call it untapped talent.

Hobson and move him to ILB. Gholston could replace Thomas, and apparently we're interested in Calvin Pace so...

QFT. Thomas has the size, athleticism, and skillset to be a pretty good player in a 3-4 D.

Hobson is short, slow, and can't pass rush all that well.

The choice is fairly obvious actually...

Thomas, and move him back to the other side. Draft Gholston for the strong side, his freak strength is just what we need.

After watching Hobson and BT this past season, and seeing them over pursue, run themselves out of several plays, and get blocked head on play after play I don't want ether of them back. I'll be upset if BT is around with the type of money we are paying, he was down right horrible, and a big reason why our defense was such a joke. As for Hobson he sucks as well, and as I've said in some other threads, Hobson is no more then a backup LB who can't play special teams.

    Both should be gone.

thomas...he fits the 3-4 better and has a higher upside with talent around him
if hobson is to make the step from an average player to a good or great player...it will be in the 4-3 with a different team
in the 3-4 we need about 7-8 solid linebackers
right now we have 4 decent mlbs...but likely 1-2(barton/vilma) will be gone...so we need 1-2 more mlbs
we have 2 decent olbs (bowens/thomas)...one should not go in as a starter and the other needs to be pushed...so that means we should add 2 more olbs
adding 3 or 4 quality linebackers in an offseason sounds like a stretch...considering we are thin at nearly every position...only way i see it happening is if
we keep barton and find another mlb to start(draft/FA) and then we draft gholston(or someone later) and sign pace...

Hobson in a 4-3, Thomas in a 3-4. Neither for a Super Bowl contender.

Yeah, I think Bryan Thomas is the worst Jets re-signing ever. The guy had one good season his entire career and surprise, surprise- it was a contract year.

Victor Hobson gets an occasional touchdown.

    Pick Vic!
