Haven't seen anything of him but he sounds like an interesting prospect. Is there room for another 20-30 pounds on that 6-6 to maybe make him into a pass-receiving TE? Even as a wideout he'll pose match-up problems at that size... Youtube video He looks positively Toon-esque, forget that TE comment!
I think the Jets have to look at Bryant Johnson and Stallworth for that 3rd reciever position. Veteran guys who run after the catch.
If Hardy could bulk up a little, he would remind me a lot of Keyshawn. That's pretty much the reciever we need on our offense now; a tall posession reciever to create matchup problems down the field and in the endzone. If both him and Gosder Cherilus are staring at us with #36, I honestly don't know who I pick.
Nice bit of video on him here http://nfldraft.rivals.com/video.asp?section=football&pkey=42025&vidtype=college&vidid=32593
http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=4635 Indiana WR James Hardy ran a 4.47 forty at the NFL Combine Sunday. A terrific time for the 6'6/219-pounder. Hardy, who led the Big Ten in touchdown receptions last year, is likely headed for the first round.
Starting to really like this guy. Big big hands and always looks safe with the ball , and for such a big guy jumps very very well.
Bah, that 40 time likely takes him out of our range of picks unless we trade back. Of course if we somehow manage to trade back with Dallas' first 2 picks, I'll be ecstatic. We could likely go Hardy-Groves-Cherilus or even Sweed-Groves-Cherilus with our first 3 picks, which would be amazing. I can dream, can't I?
Throw the possible trade of Vilma in there as well......who knows? Can't wait for FA to start , at least when it does we will have some idea of who or what need we will be adressing.
Same here man. This is the deepest draft I've seen in years in a bunch of positions, we need to take advantage of that while we can. It's also deep in a lot of positions we need, which is perfect for us.
I really think Hardy is going to be the first WR taken. His size and speed is amazing, can't pass on something like that. Especially with the way DB are becoming bigger, stronger, and faster every year.
Early on in the year , I thought this years draft was really going to be ordinary , but I 'm pleasantly proved wrong. Lets hope its a good one for us.
3rd round?!??!? WHAT? He was projected early 2nd before he ran his 40, and with that 40 time, should be an easy choice for first rounder, most likely top 3 WR taken, with easy chance at being 1st WR taken.
I think if they hadn't already, Hardy, Thomas and Sweed leapfrogged Jackson, Manningham and possibly Kelly because of their combines.
I hear he has some off the field baggage, but at this point we cannot be picky to certian degree about character
