Why is it SO FRUSTRATING to be a JETS' Fan??? Simple. Because our team stinks. When they finally start to get good, they screw up some how and suddenly fall back to the bottom of the pile. They always seem to be just one or two players away from greatness but they never seem to get those players. They are a team that gives you a glimmer of hope during the game and then RIP your heart out and stamp on it. They keep games close enough where you start to think that they're ready to turn the corner, but they never do. The problem is that you never want to give up on them so when that day comes when they finally are standing on the top of the pile, you can say, "I always knew that they'd do it one day!"
Waa Waa Waah! Hey, loser! Go root for a front-runner already! Jets fans are loyal to the Jets because... They are the F'N NEW YORK JETS! J-E-T-S! So exit this message board with your negative bullshit. Yes, the Jets might suck. They could be in last place. They might lose every game they play. But they are still my team. Be true to your school like you're true to your girl!
Crying??? I'm being honest. Are you going to tell me that last season we didn't stink??? We were asked the question "Why is so Frustrating to be a Jets fan?" and I pointed out what I have seen as a fan for the last 40+ years. Now you can delude yourself into thinking that "I'm a REAL fan because I Never criticize my team" but having suffered through the Kotite error, multiple drafts ("We want Sapp! We Want Sapp! and the Jets pick Jeff Logaman"), and many smashed hopes and dreams I've found that the only way to improve a team is to point out its weaknesses and problems so that the powers to be can fix them. Regrettably, being that way makes me a Darksider. So be it. I don't know a single long time fan (20+ years rooting for them) who is not. This team tends to do that to you. Give it time. One day, you too will throw your arms up in frustration and scream "This team stinks!" but you will always, always remain a fan. When that day comes, Welcome to the Darkside.
Every year this thead comes around (Multiple Times) and I begin to Hear Kermet the frog singing "It ant easy being green" . Then the season begins and Chad starts throwing the ball and I hear "Some where over the rainbow" . Is it ground hog day because it feels like Iv done this before. Close you eyes and dream a little dream and before you know it we will be time to go and complain about something! Just have patience the Good time are just around the corner!
Why, Ill tell you why... Ownership, Ownership, Ownership. Leon loved the team, but it was just a toy to him...he was an oil tycoon BTW. Woody is a clown, and has no business taking over this team. He's one of these new age D-bag blackberry carrying businessmen who is trying to earn respect around the league and make his mark on the team. Young unknown coaches, cheerleaders, stadium deals...who gives a rats ass ... we want a competitive team ON THE FIELD. Either Woody will wake up and smell the coffee or he wont. It really doesnt matter since the waiting list is 10+ years long and he could draft ME at #6 and still make bazilliions off us suckers. Ive been a die hard fan for 30+ years and a season ticket holder since 99. Ownership is the reason we are stuck with futility and that is the only reason.
Dude! I'm just trying to get you to MAN UP!!! Look, let's face facts: The NFL is a total crapshoot. There's almost no rhyme or reason as to why one team or another wins the Super Bowl. So don't tell me that the Jets can't win the Super Bowl next season. It's possible. Unlikely, but possible. Hey--if I bet you $100,000 before last season that the NY Giants would win the damn Super Bowl againt an 18-0 Patriots team? Yada yada. I am close friends with a Patriots fan. A few months ago, it was fun to be a Patriots fan. Would you wanna be a Pats fan now? Not me! They're going down the tubes! The Jets look good by comparison. So "be true to your school, like you're true to your girl." And stop whining. >Crying??? I'm being honest. Are you going to tell me that last season we didn't stink??? Being a New York Jets fan is like waiting for your old girlfriend who left you heart broken to come to her senses and call you back.
Things just happen everywhere all the time. It doesn't make the NFL a crapshoot. If you're going that route, it's like saying that the Jets are just incredibly unlucky almost all the time. I don't buy that for a second.
its a combination of good management and luck, Tom Brady in the 6th round is luck. Letting go of high price FA and consistently adding role players to your team. Is good management. When those two things come together You have a great team.
It's frustrating because you havent been able to ejaculate over a SB victory in 40 years. 40 years is a long time to not cum.
dude smoke a blunt and relax yourself maybe even rub one out. Wait for a couple weeks or so and moves will be made.
I actually agree with you. But, I also agree that as fans we should be able to cratique our team for possible improvements. Is it frustrating to be a Jets fan? Yes, but I still love my team, and every year I will continue to have high hopes for them not only going the distance, but taking the crown of glory as well. This guy is right. Who in there right mind would have imagined the stinkin' Giants winning the SB. Guess what, Those who doubted the Giants, are also doubting the Jets. Can they do it? Yes, I believe they can. Let the critics say what they want. Before you know it, we'll sneak in through the back door, and everyone is gonna want a piece of the J-E-T-S! JETS! JETS! JETS! Bandwagoners and all.
My 2 cents? Why is it soooo FRUSTRATING to be a Jets fan? Because most of us work 40, 60, 80 hours a week, on Monday morning, after our two-day respite that seemed to last maybe twelve minutes, we're six feet tall, six-two in some cases. But come Friday afternoon, we return home to find that we've been beaten down to five-foot-three, and the last thing we want to do is lose at home, too. So we watch TV shows featuring attractive people doing interesting things and resolving problems in 30 or 60 minutes, firing off rapid quips, getting out of danger, and maintaining absolutely unrealistic standards of physical loveliness. And somehow we identify with these people whose lives are not at all like ours. Just as we don't want to work a full day and come home to watch stories about losers, we don't want to come home to watch our teams fail, either! But this latter scenario is even more pronounced. It's way more important for, say, to have Chad Pennington win a game for the Boys in the fourth quarter than for Ross to finally ensnare Rachel, or for Captain Whoever to defeat those harsh-skulled aliens while still managing to forge a bond of understanding with them, or whatever. And I don't know whether this is because we spend too much time losing, or just not enough time winning. All I know is, we just need to win, or at least to feel as though we've won, and one of the most realistic ways to do so, no matter how much it skews our priorities, is to identify with a sports team that wins.... Peace out.
