Mcfadden is gonna be there at six and the Jets are gonna take him.

This team is more than a year from being fixed. If were not posting about the like we will be posting about the Receivers getting old, We need another Cb or two more linebackers that can play the 4-3 or will the team finally dump Chad. One thing is for certain we will be complaining about something. Positive posts on this board are at least two years away.

They'll take Long and they'll move him inside to LG for next season. He'll get plenty of exposure to the NFL with Pace on his left side and if the Rams are still wondering if he's really going to be a great LT a few years down the road they can put Barron there instead and put Long at RT.

Really it's a win-win move for them to take Jake Long. The last time they committed heavily to their offensive line they went to the Super Bowl and won it a couple of seasons later out of nowhere.

If he falls to us at 6, you try to trade him to dallas for Marion Barber and their two first round picks.

Then you trade Barber to somebody for a late first and you've completed a coup, turning the 6 pick into 3 first rounders spread out over the part of the round where the cap numbers decline dramatically. Obviously you'd rather trade Jones in that scenario but that costs a big cap hit due to the extension the Jets signed with him last year. Not to mention Jones is worth maybe a late 2nd/early 3rd at best.

Personally, I would keep Barber, as he's Younger than Jones, and provides a backup in case Jones gets hurt.

If McFadden makes it to the 6th slot and the Jets can't trade out of the spot? So what. A defensive player at that spot is still the way to go.

No, no , no.. A team with as many needs as this team does not pass on top talent to fill an immediate need with lesser talent. By all means explore the trade down scenario but if they cant get a package of picks that equal the value of the 6th spot then they need to take the best talent.

The RB talent is so good in this draft I find it hard to believe that Dallas would be willing to trade way practically their whole first day for DMac.

If Mcfadden slips to 6 he is a Jet. If he is remotely close to Adrian Peterson as advertised it is a no brainer. We need talent on both sides of the ball. You don't let an elite one go! Linemen can be had in all rounds!

that blows, chris long is exactly what we need. i wanted him months ago before the playoffs.

oh well, if hes gone by that time were fucked, might as well jump on limas sweed then. we need a WR really bad, it became more than evident with coles absence.

glenn dorsey has no place in a 3-4 it would be like forcing a nother d rob in the scheme.

maybe draft jake long from michigan and slap him at RT. he should be strong enough to make the transition.

if mcfadden somehow fell we take him. jones has 2 yrs left on his contract and with leon jones and mcfadden we could give d cords nightmares. but that might be too much money to wrap up in 1 position.

id definitely think about jumping on vernon gholston. he might only have a mid round grade but proll will jump in the combine. at 6 ft 4 264 hes a great candidate for the pass rushing OLB we need. "Gholston tied two Ohio State team records for quarterback sacks in a game when he dropped Wisconsin QB Tyler Donovan four times for a total loss of 32 yards. Two weeks later he recorded three sacks against the Michigan Wolverines to lead Ohio State to its fourth consecutive win over the Wolverines. Gholston tied the Buckeye record of 13 sacks in a single season set in 1995 by Mike Vrabel.[2] Gholston has declared for the 2008 NFL draft and is projected as a first-round pick."

    just a few ideas.

by the way im back guys whoo hoo. been gone for a minute so for anyone who actually remembers me good to be back lol

That's the problem. If any team truly knew how Peterson was going to turn out, he would have gone first overall. Every time some surprise player is drafted, for the next 3 seasons teams try to duplicate them in successive drafts. After Randy Moss exploded in his rookie season, teams tried to duplicate him for like 4 seasons. Why do you think we almost traded for Plaxico Burress when Pitt drafted him? Everybody wanted Burress to be the next Moss. Teams pay guys millions of dollars to get them elite players in the first round and a lot of guys reach for a player that doesn't measure up.

They're not looking for Mr. Right -- they're looking for Mr. Long.

I feel bad for whoever is picking at #1 this year. At the moment that's us, so I feel bad for us. I hope some greenhorn comes along and gives us a pretty good trade. It doesn't have to be spectacular.

People always talk about Jimmy's draft value chart but Jimmy was never faced with the burden of paying a potential bust or vanilla player 60 million dollars. I think if we go Chris Long this year with the #1 he'll be making more money than Jason Taylor. I mean what the fuck is that?

The only position worth gambling on with that kid of money and commitment is quarterback and there isn't one who's worth it this year. But, I'm so sick of garbage QBs playing for us(and I hope Bill is too) that I hope if Bill does gamble, he gambles on Ryan or Brohm not Dorsey or one of the Longs. Keep drafting QBs till you find one, imo.

Parcells did draft Bledsoe with the #1 in 1993....

If we can't trade out, I'd much rather select Matt Ryan with the #1 pick.....

You can make an argument for taking a QB with the Fins pick, given the epic failures at the position over the last decade or so. That said, none of the QB's are franchise quality and I see little chance that Parcells is going to squint and pretend with the pick.

The QB's this year are the same quality as the Alex Smith/Aaron Rodgers draft and I think one will go in the top 10 and one in the next 20. Parcells is not a great drafter, but he definitely leans conservative when it comes to top 10 picks.

Parcells using a #1 pick on a QB when his O-line, D-line, LB corps, and WR corps are decimated just isn't gonna happen...

One thing Parcells has always preached about finding a franchise QB is that you're not going to find one if you put him behind a completely shitty team.

Hmm no. I see BP taking trading down and taking Ryan and then looking to build an oline through draft and FA.
The phins do lack all over , more so than us which is....nice!
Look what BP did with Simms and the Giants O line , they weren't instantly great....I see him trying to repeat what he did at the Giants.
I will be very surprised if Miami does not draft QB day 1.

I'd honestly put barber over jones on the depth chart- no one ever tackles him on the 1st try its amazing.

barber and the two 1st rounders won't happen...way too much value given up for the cowboys
barber is worth a first round pick....we would be looking at barber the #22 and a 2nd rounder max
which is still a good deal
because if he is there....we have to pick him or trade him...no way we pass the gift on to the patriots
we would have to re-sign marion barber to a new deal though...which would be a pain
the more realistic trade is if some other team closer behind us falls in love with mcfadden and then he still drops
